Jan was born in Ogden Utah on August 6, 1934 to Charles Frederick Foulger and Vellys Woods. She was the first of two daughters that lived to adult hood and two brothers who died in infancy.

Her family moved to Salem, Oregon when she was 4 years old where her parents started a chain of women's clothing stores. She graduated from Ogden High School, Brigham Young University and the Oregon College of Education. She was the first in her family to attend and graduate from college.

She taught Elementary School in Salt Lake City and later Salem, Oregon for 34 years, 18 of those years she was a learning Disabilities Specialist teaching hundreds of children how to read. She tutored privately and loved to help children with their reading challenges.

She wrote and published 12 puppet plays and 3 LDS books on Baptism, Tithing and the Word of Wisdom for children. Her book on Baptism was the number one best seller for the publisher for many years. She had three children, one son and two daughters who all pursued college degrees to continue the example that she had set for the family.

She traveled extensively around the world including visiting Egypt and the Great Pyramids of Giza, Europe, riding on the Orient Express and took advantage of a European river cruise to visit one of her grandsons on his mission in Hungary.

She enjoyed watching her grandsons play sports and loved to play games especially, Can't Stop. She served as an ordinance worker in the Washington DC temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 18 years. Her strong testimony of the divinity of Jesus Christ and of the Restoration of the Gospel will be a great example to her posterity for many generations.

She is survived by her sister Julie Foulger Darling (Tom) of Chandler, Arizona and her three children: Dr Gary Clawson (Sonja) of Alpine, Utah, Dr Charvel Clawson, Michele Foulger of Virginia and 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main, Lehi, Utah at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Interment, Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East.
