Janell Carol Hampton, loving mother and friend to so many was born on October 23,1953 in Vancouver, Washington. She passed away at her home in Springville, Utah on April 11, 2023.
Janell was raised in California by her parents Douglas W. Ackley and Carol F. Hines (Ackley), and graduated from Campolindo High School in 1971. She later married Steve Rutledge and had three children with him, but later divorced. Her children, Jenny, Amy and David were her life. Janell was also the most wonderful Grandmother to seven grandchildren- Easton, Emma, Eli, David, Shaun, Boston and Lucy. She loved her grandchildren dearly.
Janell was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a faithful temple worker, and attended the temple just weeks before her death. Janell was so much fun! She loved the outdoors and spending time with her friends as often as possible. She was an amazing listener, and someone you could always count on for anything! No words can describe how much she will be missed.
Janell was healthy for most of her life, until her sudden diagnosis with Pancreatic Caner. Although the last 9 months were difficult for her she continued attending concerts, seeing friends and holding her family tightly. She never gave up. She also spent time with her former spouse, Steve Hampton, and they remained friends until her death.
Janell is also survived by her brother, Dave Ackley and his wife, Kathy.
Her memorial service will be held at the Spring Creek 12 Ward Building at 11:00 am on April 20, 2023. The address is 235 E. 550 N. In Springville, Utah.
