On July 7, 2022, Jason Richard Ivey departed this life unexpectedly at his home in Lehi, Utah. Jason will always be remembered for his remarkable courage through difficult times, and his fierce commitment as a loving husband, father, brother and son. Unfortunately, this time the pain was too difficult, and Jason died by suicide on Thursday evening.

Jason was born on August 19, 1974 in Klamath Falls, Oregon to Edwin and Jessie Ivey. He was the youngest of five brothers and later followed by three younger sisters. As a teen, Jason attended R.A. Long High School in Longview, Washington, where he, his brother, and a close group of friends enjoyed many 'adventures', often to his parents' dismay. He then traveled to Utah and Idaho to work and study Computer Science before embarking on a mission to Washington D.C. After returning, he soon met his beautiful wife, Stephanie Inglet Ivey, and married her in July 1997 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters and one son.

Jason went on to become a highly respected senior software engineer, and was intensely passionate about his craft. His love for his work carried over into his cheerful and sensitive demeanor with family and friends. His strength and perseverance through lifelong chronic pain and illness was a true inspiration to those who knew him well, accentuated by his ever ready smile, quip, and his genuine and honest personality that lifted and strengthened those around him. He loved his wife dearly, and treasured the time spent with his amazing children.

Jason, you are loved more than words can express and you will be missed by everyone who knows you. This world will not be the same without you in it.

Jason is survived by his wife, Stephanie; daughters, Julia (Jaeron) Somerville and Syd; son, Tyson; father Edwin Richard Ivey and mother Jessie Gibb Ivey; siblings Edwin (Carol) Ivey, Shawn (Angie) Ivey, Nathan (Heather) Ivey, Aaron (Laura) Ivey, Shayla (Nathan) Trimble, Alonna (Kamron) Grubaugh, and Jennifer (Rick) Reed; and in-laws, Clark Olson Inglet and Roberta Marier Inglet.

Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 150 E 1500 N, Lehi, on Saturday, July 16, at 12 pm. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, July 15 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the church. Interment and dedication of the grave will immediately follow funeral services on Saturday at the Lehi City Cemetery. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.wingmortuary.com.
