Our beloved Jerry Wayne Schmidt, 56, of American Fork, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2024 after a long health battle.

Jerry was born on April 27, 1967 in Provo, Utah. After Jerry graduated from American Fork High School in 1985 he went on to study English at what is now Utah Valley University as well as University of Utah.

Although Jerry was an English major, he ended up with a career in the technology field and worked for several companies as an IT professional and Upgrade Engineer.

Jerry married Diana Roberts in 1990 and they went on to have four children, Logan, Marlene, Katherine, and Evan.

Jerry loved cooking (especially for his family and others), was passionate about the written word,  theatre, and all things sci-fi. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in the South Carolina, Columbia Mission.

Jerry was predeceased by his mother and father Marion and Duane, his brother Jon, sister-in- law Mary, mother-in-law Joy, and his niece Lindsey. He is survived by his children Logan (Lindsay), Marlene, Katherine, and Evan, his sisters Jamie and Jannah (Troy), and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11:00 am at 1801 W 700 S Lehi, UT 84043
A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in the American Fork Cemetery.
