Jessica Orton Lyman, 44, passed away on March 31, 2025 surrounded by her family. Born on March 26, 1981, in Provo, Utah, to Byron James Orton and Marsha Clayton Orton, Jessica's life was defined by her deep love for her family, her unwavering dedication to her career, and her generous spirit.
Jessica was a devoted mother to her three children, Alexis Ciarra Skye Lyman (17), Noah Dylan Lyman (16), and Eli Ronin Fox Painter (8). She was their greatest champion, always cheering them on and fiercely advocating for them. She worked tirelessly to create a home filled with love, laughter, and warmth, ensuring they always felt supported and cherished.
She spent her early years in Wyoming, Washington State, and Utah, graduating from Mountain View High School in Orem, class of 1999. She pursued higher education at Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University, where she studied psychology. Despite her time at BYU, she was always rooting for her Utes!
Jessica began her professional career in 2001, excelling in roles as a human resources professional, account manager, and project manager. She was known for her exceptional work ethic, intelligence, and ability to rise quickly through the ranks. Her photographic memory and attention to detail made her a standout in her field; she was often recognized for her outstanding professional contributions and leadership.
Beyond her professional success, Jessica had a deep passion for giving back. As an organ donor, she gave the ultimate gift of life to three families. She had a love for theater and music, often attending performances across the valley. She also had a love of the beach, a favorite being the Oregon coast. She recently renewed her passport to visit England and Spain with her family last summer.
More than anything, Jessica treasured creating special moments with her children. Whether attending a Sabrina Carpenter concert with Lexi, surprising Noah with a flying lesson for his 15th birthday, or taking Eli to a trampoline park, she always found ways to bring adventure and joy into their lives.
Jessica is survived by her parents, Byron and Marsha Orton; her siblings, Lindsay Orton Robison (Troy), Erica Orton McKee (Brandon), and Alex James Orton (Rod); and her beloved children, Alexis and Noah. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her son, Eli.
She will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and the profound impact she had on those around her. Her big, beautiful blue eyes were as unforgettable as her generous heart.
