Jessie Lenore
Behunin Tucker
Jan 29, 1938 — Sep 19, 2021
Jessie Lenore Behunin Tucker
Jessie Lenore Tucker, age 83, formerly of Duchesne, UT, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021, in her daughter's home in Saratoga Springs, UT, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born on January 29, 1938, in Spring Canyon, Utah, to George Harold and Velda Hartle Behunin. She married the love of her life, Ted Earl Tucker, on October 11, 1955, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised 6 children: 3 sons, 2 daughters, and an adopted granddaughter.
Jessie entered this world with a passion for music and art. She had great natural artistic talent and painted beautiful portraits. She also spread her joy and love for music throughout her entire life—a love that was passed on to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She sang with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for many years. After this, she focused on her children and sharing her love of music with them. She later taught music out of her home, enriching the lives and building the confidence of countless people. She loved sharing music, and she loved her students dearly, investing her entire heart in their musical and spiritual growth. She continued to teach music until she was about 76 years young. She truly leaves a legacy of the power and beauty of the arts to bless lives and connect with the divine.
Jessie spent much of her life in her expansive garden, tending flowers, making sure bugs didn't devour her plants, and enjoying the beauty and rewards of her hard work. For many years, she and her husband would work in the yard together. She focused on the flowers and increasing the beauty, while Ted did the dirty work. Once he passed, she began doing it all. Nothing stopped her from making her yard beautiful--not bad hips, not bad weather, no aches and pains, and no longer being able to move like she used to. She made her beloved garden flourish right up until the end.
Jessie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she devoted her life to serving others and sharing her love of, and faith in, Christ. She kept the gospel close to her heart and made it the foundation of her soul and actions. All she did reflected her love for her Savior, Jesus Christ. She stated near to her death that all we need to fill our missions in this life is Truth and Love. She had absolute faith in Christ and knew she would be reunited with her husband.
Jessie had an unconditional love for all of her "babies," as she called them. This includes her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved her babies dearly and she was very proud of all of them. She also made sure to let them know that God and Jesus loved every one of them and that she wanted them to grow to become good people.
Jessie is survived by her children Joy Ann Fugal and her husband Lee, Kimball Ted Tucker and his wife Mary, Richard LeGrande Tucker and his wife Diane, Lynn G. Wendel and her husband Max, Timothy Craig Tucker and his wife Luann, Candace Britannie Tucker Allred, and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers John Behunin and his wife Linda, Thomas Behunin and his wife Judy, Matthew Behunin and his wife Chris, and Rex Behunin and his wife Jana. She is survived by her sisters Marylin Stipe and her husband Larry, Clarnell Harper, and LeeAnn Sudbury.
Jessie was preceded in death by her husband Ted Tucker, an infant child, her parents Velda Hartle Behunin and George Harold Behunin, Her brother Max and his wife Sally, and her brother George Frank. She is also preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Richard Harper and Craig Sudbury, and a sister-in-law Marrie (Matthew).
