John R Hopper passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He was born on July 10, 1947 to Robert Vernon Gerald Hopper and Joyce Brown Hopper in Salt Lake City, Utah.

John married Heidi Ann Tanner Hopper on March 25, 1972 in Farmington, Utah.  They were later sealed in the temple on April 10, 1979.  They are the parents of five children, grandparents to 20 and great grandparents to four.

John loved his grandkids and shared the best parts of his knowledge with them. He was an Artist. He loved to draw, paint and play guitar. Dad collected and appreciated antiques. Some of our best memories were made Camping, Hunting, and fishing. Most of which were made at Flaming George.  During his children's teenage years our summers were spent over the road riding copilot in the semi seeing the country. John's favorite painting was the one he saw in his windshield mile by mile. This will be the first time I can remember him settling in his roots.

John is preceded by his Father Robert Vernon Jerald Hopper, stepfather Elden Adams Stott, Mother Joyce  Brown Stott, brother Dean Stott, Grandson Jessie Redelk , Son in Law Joey Postma

John is survived by his wife Heide Ann Hopper, Son John I. Hopper Daughter Vania E. Postma, Daughter Davina R. Spencer, Son David E. Hopper, Daughter Toby A. Gerber, Sister Ellen Goodfellow, Sister Maileen Beckstead, Brother Wallace Stott.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 12:00 Noon in the Utah Veterans Memorial Park Cemetery (Camp Williams), 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah 84065.  Military honors will be held.
