Joseph Lee Adamson, 81, passed away at his home in Lehi on December 28, 2021 after a battle with an extended illness. Joe was born on May 8, 1940 in Salt Lake City to Lee and Roberta Cook Adamson. He attended school in Lehi and graduated from Lehi High School in 1958. He was a basketball, football and state champion tennis player, and was the proudest lifelong Lehi Pioneer.

He married Penny Holcomb on February 14, 1963 in the Manti Temple. They are the parents of five children, eighteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Some of his happiest moments were spent hunting, fishing and riding horses. He worked hard to buy a farm in Fairview and loved working and recreating there with his family. He always loved sports and especially enjoyed fast-pitch softball as a successful pitcher. Joe was an avid Jazz, BYU and Lehi Pioneers fan, but most enjoyed supporting his kids and grandkids in their sports and activities.

He was a successful businessman and excelled as an insurance salesman and later owned Adamson Auto on Lehi Main Street for nearly 15 years.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the bishopric and high council, but especially loved serving with the youth. Two of his grandchildren are currently serving missions: Sister Ashton Adamson in the Costa Rica San Jose East mission and Elder Jake Adamson in the North Carolina Charlotte mission.

He is survived by his sweetheart, Penny Adamson; children Angie (Darin) Clark, Jason (Tammara) Adamson, Jim (Natalie) Adamson, Greg (Crystal) Adamson, Lee (Jenni) Adamson, Leatua "Tui" Malua; and sister, Carla Shelton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Roberta Adamson, and his brother Tobe Adamson.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Lehi East Stake Center, 851 N 1200 E, Lehi. Viewing will take place prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the church. A viewing will also take place on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the church. Interment at Lehi Cemetery.
