Julie Black, beloved wife, mother, daughter and grandmother passed away peacefully Friday, October 16, 2020, surrounded by her loved ones.

Julie was born in Salt Lake City, UT and was adopted by Diana and Julian Mercer.

She grew up in Lehi, UT on a farm her parents owned.
Julie was an avid athlete, lettering in tennis and color guard in high school.

She met and fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Sketter Black. Shortly after high school they married on 05/07/1992.

Julie's greatest accomplishment in her life was being a mother to her three wonderful boys, Zachary Ray, Skyler Jay and Brody Lucian.

Those sweet boys threw a lot of sass her way, and she was not only able to take it, but dish it out even harder.

She was active in a lot of their actives, ranging from Cub Scouts as a Den Leader, to a band mom known famously as Mama Black.

A few years after her oldest married, they welcomed their first child, a boy and her first grandchild, Emmerick Ray. She adored him.
Shortly after they welcomed their second child, a girl and her second grandchild, Elowen Lois. The bond they had and forever will cherish was something to be admired.

Julie loved a good craft. She often would paint shelves, plaques and birdhouses to hang around the house. She loved to paint and added a little color everywhere she went.

Even though she is gone, we know she is no longer in pain and surrounded by loved ones that have also moved on.

She leaves behind her husband Sketter, sons Zachary (Kylie, Emmerick and Elowen), Skyler (Lexi) and Brody (Kylie), her parents Diana and Julian and her brother Jeff (Becky and family).

She is proceeded in death by her sister, Susan.

Jules, Mom, Grandma, we know your spirit surrounds us. We love you forever and ever.

Services:
An open house viewing will take place Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 6pm-8pm at Wing Mortuary in Lehi, UT.

A graveside will follow the next day for immediate family.
