Julie Hacking Sorenson, born and raised a proud Cedar Fort girl, left this world on November 21, 2024. To know Julie was to love her. Julie had a light about her that made everyone around her feel loved. Her kindness was personal, her love intentional.

Julie loved being on a horse. From her younger years competing in rodeo and mountain adventures with her dad to more casual trail rides later in life, she was always at home in the saddle. There was something about those moments with her horse that gave her a deep sense of joy and grounding she truly cherished.

Julie found peace in the outdoors, whether she was working in the yard, going for a walk, or hiking in the hills. The mountains were her sanctuary, and she always came back down with her heart fuller than when she left.

Julie had a deep love for the gospel and was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She faithfully served the Lord throughout her life, embodying the love and charity of our Savior Jesus Christ in all she did. Her faith was the foundation of her compassion, and she lived each day as a testament to her beliefs, offering service, kindness, and unconditional love to everyone she met.

Julie walked through life with a resilience and strength that inspired everyone who knew her. Though she faced burdens that only she and God fully understood, she remained steadfast in her love for others, always extending grace and care even in her hardest moments. Today, may we find hope in knowing that her struggles are over, her burdens lifted, and she is now at peace in the presence of her Heavenly Father, surrounded by eternal love and light.

Julie's heart was happiest when she was surrounded by her family, soaking in the little moments and creating memories that mattered most. They were her everything—her greatest joy, her deepest love, and the legacy she cherished above all else.

Julie was preceded in death by her daughter Shanalee and is survived by her loving husband, Clayton Sorenson, the love of her life, and her four children - Crystal, Rachel, Mckell, and Zeb, and her amazing grandchildren - Colson, Amos, Josephine, Harlee, Dawson, Vaughn and Otha. Her family was her whole world, but her love didn't stop there; it extended to her friends, family, and anyone fortunate enough to know her.

Julie gave us all the gift of her love and light, a gift that touched each of us in its own unique way. She had a way of making life feel brighter and more meaningful, just by being herself. Julie gave us all the gift of her love and light. May we honor her by carrying that with us wherever we go.
