Obituary

After a long life of service to his family, Karren Albert Turner (75) returned to his Heavenly Father on February 17, 2021.

Karren had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and lived a good life. Karren served a mission to the Norther States Mission (Wisconsin and Chicago, Illinois area) for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Karren was active in the Scouting program for many years. In Scouting he enjoyed trips to Lake Powell, and the High Uintas with the boys who affectionately called him Papa Smurf.

In 1968 he married his sweetheart, Kathlene, in the Salt Lake City Temple and together they raised 4 children. He suffered a stroke in 2016 and was in constant pain and yet he continued to serve his family. He showed Christ like love to everyone and accepted people as they are. Karren always tried to do what is right. His wife reports that he was a "fine" husband and she was blessed to spend 52 years of marriage to him.

He is survived by his wife, Kathlene, 4 children – Steven, Greg (Sharla), Daniel (Kristen), and Cristy (Cory Ringel), and 19 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Karren is also survived by his brother, Roger Turner and his two sisters; Joyce Messersmith and Jena Mitchell.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the Harvest Hills 11th Ward, 2256 North Providence Drive, Saratoga Springs, Utah. A viewing will be held starting at 11:00 AM prior to the service at the church. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery.
