On Monday, July 18, 2022 my sweetheart wife, our sweet mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Kathie was born on January 26, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was a graduate of East High School and went on to graduate from the University of Utah with a Bachelors in Interior Design. She was the president of her sorority Apha Chi Omega. She was very accomplished in her voluntary and professional work as president of the Utah Downs Syndrome Foundation for many years. Her most proud accomplishment was when she developed the program to help mothers in the NICU who had premature babies to comfort and help them through that stage of life. She lived her whole life by serving and helping others but most of all loved spending time with family creating and sharing memories.

She was very artistic, social, an outstanding tennis player, very athletic and loved to spend time on the tennis court with her friends.

Kathie was preceded by her great grandchild Ivar and survived by her husband Art Peterson and her six children; Drew, Brandon, Alissa, Micah, Matt and Danielle, 22 grandchildren, and 2 great grand children.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 23rd, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 127 East 3200 North, Lehi, Utah at 11am There will be a viewing from 10 to 11am prior to the service. Flowers or donations may be sent to 379 E Clubview Lane Lehi, UT 84043. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery.
