Kathy Sevenants age 78, formerly of Logan Utah, passed away on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at Utah Valley Hospital surrounded by her husband, children and grandchildren.  Kathy was born in Logan UT to Harlow Fister Petersen and Denise Hunsaker Petersen on August 16, 1943. Kathy's childhood consisted of moving with her family, as her father was in the military. This made Kathy social, easy going and fun spirited. She spent a lot of time with her siblings during these travels which prepared her to be a fantastic mother. When her family returned to Utah they planted in Centerville.

Kathy graduated from Bountiful high in 1961, after that she attended Beauty school and received her certificate. She enjoyed making people beautiful. She loved people and she loved hair.
Fred and Kathy married in 1962, and welcomed their first child Paul (John) in 1963. John was born very early and suffered a birth defect due to the complications which caused him to have Cerebral Palsy. Very soon after John came the twins, Denise and Deanne. Denise (Daniels) and Deanne (Jensen) were born in 1964. They had three children within the first three years of marriage. They welcomed Natasha (Amys) 14 years later and the family was complete.

During this time Kathy raised her children, fought for handicap children to attend public schools, broke barriers to the stigma of what having a handicap child means. Fred and Kathy still support assisted living for handicap people,volunteering their time and resources for others like John to have a good life. Kathy decided with all her experience in the handicap world that she needed to be a special ed teacher, be part of the decision making that went on for disabled kids. She went back to school, starting at Weber State, and finishing at University of Nebraska at Omaha to complete her Bachelors in Special Education.

Fred and Kathy retired, and spent a lot of time traveling, visiting National Parks in a RV, going on cruises, and flying to other countries. They have many special memories and enjoyed being together.

Fred and Kathy have 15 grandchildren, Stephen, Leslie, Deidre,Christian, Matthew, Lisa, Jillian, Gabriel, Joseph, Alexis, Ashley, Taylor, Reagan, Marja, and Eric. They have 14 great grandchildren.

Fred and Kathy married young, had children young and retired young. They lived a full life and had many experiences together. They did not waste a single moment together. Fred and Kathy were young lovers who cared so much about each other and those who surrounded them. They were a wonderful example of love, endearment and honesty to their family. Kathy's generosity, deep love, and genuine caring made her very special. Kathy spent the last few years of her life, attending her grandchildren's life events, making her soap, lotions and bath salts. She enjoyed meeting her friends for swimming exercise and painting with a group in the clubhouse where they live.

Kathy suffered from injuries that occured years ago after a near fatal car accident that she never fully recovered from. She did the best she could with her injuries to move with grace and patience. In the end, Kathy suffered a stroke that took her life. It was sudden and she did not suffer. Her husband, children and grandchildren were able to hold her hand, kiss her and send her off to God. She will be embraced by her parents, her in-laws and grandson Reagan, along with many others that have passed before her.

She will be missed, but never forgotten by all who appreciated her spirit, smile and sweet soul.

Her funeral will be held at Wing Mortuary in Lehi UT on Friday October 1, 2021. Viewing will be from 11 to noon, and the funeral service will begin at 12:00. The service will be visible on Wing Mortuary Facebook page on the live feed for in-home viewing, log on about 10 minutes before the service. Following the service. we will be having an open house from 2-4 at the clubhouse where Fred and Kathy live, 1267 S. 100 E Lehi Ut. Kathy will be laid to rest on Saturday October 2, 2021 at Logan City Cemetery at 12:30. With love and light we are so thankful for your presence.
