Our loving mother, grandma, daughter, and sister, Kelli Edwards Kirkpatrick, 51, passed away unexpectedly on September 4th, 2021.

Kelli was born April 25th, 1970, in Delta, Utah, to Jean Kae and Wayne Lowell Edwards. She grew up in Lehi, Utah, as the oldest of seven children. Following receiving her degree as an RN, she worked as a nurse at Utah Valley Hospital and American Fork Hospital. After marrying, she raised three sons, Jacob, Josh, and Ian. She went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at Utah Valley University. As a nurse, she held positions in maternal-fetal medicine, pediatrics, home health and hospice, addiction recovery, and in the intensive care unit.

Kelli was genuine and caring in all of her relationships. She taught, fostered, and encouraged her sons to pursue diverse interests. She cheered on her sons through countless hours of youth sports games, attended many unrefined guitar recitals, and proudly displayed novice art on her fridge and walls. She found joy in her children's accomplishments and was always their biggest fan. She became a grandma in 2019 and since has loved and spoiled her little Ollie. Together, they enjoyed swinging on a swing, watering her garden, and dancing and singing to the guitar. When they could not be together, grandma and Ollie loved their silly conversations on FaceTime. Her love and affection also extended to the dogs in her life: Sabrina, Zoey, Sadie, Anabelle, and her grand-dogs Bernie and Howie. Whether you were a sister, aunt, co-worker, friend, or patient, Kelli inspired, loved, and accepted you for who you were. Conversations with Kelli were always sure to bring a lot of laughs. Witty and sarcastic, she found humor in nearly any situation. A silver lining was only a conversation away with Kelli.

As a nurse, Kelli fearlessly advocated for the rights and comforts of her patients. She dedicated a significant amount of time to each patient to ensure their comfort and safety. This dedication to her patients was especially prevalent during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kelli lived a very active life. She was an avid runner and ran many marathons, including the Boston Marathon in 2006. Morning runs with her late dog, Sabrina, were part of her daily routine. She also enjoyed biking, rollerblading, walking her dog of the last ten years, Zoey, and playing pickleball. She loved sharing these activities with her friends and family so much that she bought extra pickleball paddles and even a second bike so people could join her.

Kelli was a do-it-yourself expert. Creativity was a dominant strength of Kelli's, and she was known for bringing her creative ideas to life. She designed and landscaped her yard, laying a patio, building fences, constructing a pergola and bench, and maintaining a beautiful garden. Her home reflected her creative ability through ingenious use of wallpaper, epoxy, back splashes, and paint. Her home was a place that was not only beautiful but where anyone who visited felt comfortable and loved. Kelli was constantly working on a project or developing a new skill. Whether through watching YouTube videos or trial and error, she obsessively worked until she reached her goals. Even though she did not pursue musical talents early in life, she later taught herself to sing and play the guitar. Although this did not come naturally, she practiced relentlessly to play for her family, especially her grandson, who made her feel like a rock star.

Kelli lived a rich life full of laughter, love, and purpose. She had a profound impact on the lives of all those who knew her. Her legacy lives on through those whom she inspired. She is survived by her parents, Wayne and Jean; siblings Richard, Russell, Thayne, Cadie, Blaine, and Cari; sons Jacob, Joshua, and Ian; and grandson, Oliver.
