Kenneth Lee Strickland
1942-2022

Kenneth (Kenny) Lee Strickland, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was 79 years old. We are celebrating the sweet reunion that is currently happening in heaven with his sweetheart, family and friends.

Kenny was born December 12, 1942 in American Fork, Utah to James Bradshaw Strickland and Edna May Elton Strickland. He later married the love of his life Lillian Colleen Quinn on October 27, 1961. They were married 54 years. They had three children: Tony Strickland, Tina (Fred) Mogle and Tiffany (Paul) Peterson. They raised their family in Cedar Fort, Utah. They have nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Kenny was a handyman, he framed houses in his early years. He later had an amazing 37 year career working as a Surveying Instrument Mechanic at Tooele Army Depot. Upon retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and working on the farm. He was always on cloud 9 when operating a tractor and planting crops.

When Kenny wasn't working, he had many hobbies that filled his days. He loved to rodeo. He loved his horses, cows, roping and riding. He thoroughly enjoyed taking and cheering for his family, extended family and friends at their rodeos. He also loved riding snowmobiles, motorcycles, 4 wheelers and camping.

Kenny had an amazing smile and laugh. Both were contagious. Everyone who knew him loved his jokes and lighthearted teasing. To be teased by Kenny was to be loved by Kenny.

He will be remembered for the way he cared about people. He enjoyed visiting with everyone in the town of Cedar Fort. He knew everyone and everyone knew they had a friend in Kenny. He was known to drop everything to help anyone. He was kind, generous and truly had a heart of gold. He exemplified the meaning of community. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Preceded in death by his father James Strickland, mother Edna May Strickland, wife Colleen Quinn Strickland, brother Duane Strickland, brother Loyde Strickland, and his twin sisters Laree Stewart and Larae Castagno, granddaughter Makena Mogle and great granddaughter Briley Anderson.

On behalf of Kenny's family, we would like to thank the friends and community of Cedar Fort for helping take such good care of our dad the last few years of his life. We would also like to thank Richard and the staff at Seasons Assisted Living Center. Along with Bonnie from ICare home health and hospice. We are forever grateful for everything you did to help him and us as a family in a very difficult time.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 11-1230 at the Cedar Fort church, 185 East Center St, Cedar Fort, Utah. Burial and graveside service will be held at 1:00 at the Cedar Fort cemetery,14 North Church St., Cedar Fort, Utah. A Luncheon will be held after the graveside service at the Cedar Fort church.
