Kirk Legler Holman

Kirk Legler Holman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, was called home on July 14, 2026, in Lehi, Utah, at the age of 71. He will be dearly missed for his steady presence, thoughtful nature, and love for those around him.

Born on August 27, 1954, in Pocatello, Idaho, to John Ryder Holman and Selma Legler Holman, Kirk spent his youth riding motorbikes, fishing, skiing, and enjoying the adventures and occasional mischief of small-town life.

As a young man, Kirk served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rome, Italy. The experience left a lasting impression on him, and he never lost his appreciation for Italy, its people, and its food. While attending Brigham Young University, Kirk met his eternal companion, Denece Esmay Holman. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple in June 1978 and built a life centered on faith, family, and service, sharing 48 years of marriage. Together they raised two children, Desirae Holman White and Robert John Holman, and foster daughter, Michelle Mooney, and welcomed many others into their home as family.

Kirk enjoyed a career in software development, quality assurance, and information security, where he was known for his integrity, dedication, and thoughtful approach to his work.

Kirk found great happiness in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved encouraging them, sharing experiences with them, and watching them grow into remarkable young people.

He found joy in cinema, loved to ski, had a passion for music, and appreciated opportunities to spend time with family and friends.

Kirk is survived by his wife, Denece Esmay Holman; his daughter and son-in-law, Desirae Holman White and Jon White; his son and daughter-in-law, Robert John Holman and Jenni Durfee Holman; his brother and sister-in-law, John Holman and Marae Clark Holman; his sister and brother-in-law, Marilinda Holman Boyce and Jerry Boyce; and 13 beloved grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Ryder Holman and Selma Legler Holman; and foster daughter, Michelle Mooney.

His legacy of faith, kindness, and love will continue to bless his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
