Kirk Clint Holmstead passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the age of 66. He was born September 24, 1957 in the Lehi Hospital, Lehi, Utah to RaNae Richins and Von Dee Holmstead. He was the oldest of five boys and loved his brothers, Lyle Dee, Cal Dean, Terry Lynn and Tony Justin. He grew up in Lehi, Utah hunting and fishing with his dad and brothers. He enjoyed scouting and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He gave the credit to his mother.
He married Michelle Conder in August of 1977. They had five sons who he loved spending time with fishing, hunting, scuba diving and water skiing. He also enjoyed coaching them in baseball, wrestling and taught them to country and western swing dance. They were sealed as a family in the Provo Temple in 1981. They raised their sons in Hurricane, Utah. They were later divorced.
He married Tammy Lorraine Hadley in 1997 and helped raise her four children. They traveled for work as linemen to Phoenix, Arizona and then to Eugene, Oregon where he fell 28 feet from a telephone pole to the asphalt and was severely injured which affected him for the rest of his life. After spending a year in and out of the hospital they moved back to Lehi, Utah. They were later divorced.
He married Zina Bramall Gifford on November 27, 2019 and has lived happily in Lehi, Utah until his passing.
He was a High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had several sweet experiences with the Holy Ghost that he liked to share.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Lyle. He is survived by his remaining brothers and his five sons, Bucky Durrel (Anna) Holmstead of Lehi, Utah, Blake Warren (Tayna) Holmstead of Logandale, Nevada, Everett Dean (Krystal) Holmstead of La Verkin, Utah, Colton (Lyndsey) Holmstead of Logandale, Nevada and Kip Lynn (Karen) Holmstead of Schertz, Texas. And his two step children Dan (Anita) Roundy of Calhoun, Louisiana and Kim (Lec) Holmes of Lehi, Utah. He has 31 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren with one on the way.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11 am at the Lehi Stake Center, 1251 W 900 N, Lehi, Utah. All are welcome at viewings on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Wing Mortuary, 118 E Main Street, Lehi, Utah and one hour prior to the funeral service at 10 am Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Lehi Stake Center. Interment will be at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery, 1997 S 400 E, Springville, Utah.
