Larry Ernil Cook, 80, of Cedar Fort, Utah, passed away on April 6, 2026. He was born on Dec. 5, 1945, to Ernil and Geneva Probst Cook.

Larry attended school in Cedar Fort and graduated from Lehi High School in 1964. He then proudly served his Country in the U.S. Air Force. After returning home he married Marie Hansen on May 12, 1973, and they were overjoyed when their son, Kyle, joined their family in 1988. They were all sealed together on November 16, 1996, in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. Larry and Marie were married for 50 years before Marie's passing in 2023.

Larry was known as a very hard worker.  He worked alongside his father and brothers on the family farm his entire life. After returning from his military service, Larry, who was a heavy equipment mechanic, worked for Garrett Freight Lines, Cate Equipment Co., both of Salt Lake City, then worked for Kennecott Copper until his retirement.  He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Larry dealt with life with courage and a positive attitude.  Faced with numerous challenges throughout his life, he served as an example to those around him how best to meet those challenges head on and try to move forward. Marie's passing created, perhaps, his greatest challenge in coping with life, but he was even able to overcome that challenge with quiet resolve.

Recently after dealing with multiple medical concerns, Larry was diagnosed with the Cancer that took his life just days after his diagnosis.

Larry loved his son, Kyle, dearly and was proud to share those accomplishments with others. He deeply appreciated the extra support Kyle gave him after Marie died and he wanted Kyle to know how much that meant to him.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Ernil and Geneva Cook, his wife, Marie, and a niece, Venecsa Gasaway. He is survived by his son, Kyle; Siblings: Charlotte (Kerry) Davis; Calvin (Jeanine) Cook; Marvin (Jann) Cook; and Tamara (Rick) Hummel. He is also survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

A celebration of Larry's life will take place on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. A public viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Wing Mortuary in Lehi, Utah, between the hours of 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. On Wednesday, April 15, an additional viewing will take place between 10:00 and 11:00 AM. at the LDS Church in Cedar Fort, Utah. A graveside service will then follow that viewing at the Cedar Fort Cemetery.
