Our beloved father, Larry William Thomas, Sr., 66, died unexpectedly on February 11, 2024, in Ogden, Utah.

He was born in 1957 in Lehi, Utah and at the young age of 20 he decided to follow in the footsteps of many members of his family, including his own father and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad where he miraculously survived a tragic accident that severed both his legs. Despite much adversity in his life, he always had a sense of humor and such a positive outlook on life.

He was very adventurous and during his earlier years loved taking his kids for rides on his three wheelers and wasn't afraid to live life to the fullest. He loved to socialize with people and made friends everywhere he went and made sure they knew he genuinely cared and valued their relationship. He made everyone feel welcome no matter where they came from and was never judgmental. He never forgot a birthday or special occasion. He loved to play pool, loved to hunt and take his boys fishing, he loved his guns, and he especially loved his family.

During this past summer he enjoyed spending quality time with his kids and grandkids and was always asking how his grandkids were doing when he was away. A proud dad and grandpa we love so much and who will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

He is survived by two sisters: Mary Ann Beal of Springville and Marlene Winters of Orem. His wife, Aita Peini Thomas of Lehi; daughter Leilani Taukeiaho (Johnny) of Lehi; sons Travis Thomas of Lehi, Larry Thomas, Jr. (Annalisa) of Eagle Mountain and Sione
Thomas (Chandler) of Herriman; 7 grandchildren: Lihai- Tu'ihoua, Aeson, Anyia, Asher, Teileah, Kalisia, and Teivan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lavon William Thomas and Bertha Kinder Thomas and brother Jerry Lavon Thomas.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 12:00 pm in the Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main, Lehi, Utah. A viewing will be held at the Mortuary starting at 10:00 am prior to the service. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery.
