Obituary

Leita Strickland Shepherd 1937 - 2022.

Our dear wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Leita Strickland Shepherd of Lehi, Utah, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2022.

Leita was born May 12, 1937, to Fred G. Stickland and Paralee Garn Strickland of Cedar Fort, Utah. She enjoyed school and always earned good marks. She was involved in many school activities and also enjoyed riding horses. At the end of her Junior year, she met Kent Shepherd, and after his LDS mission, they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 1, 1959.

Leita and Kent welcomed 6 children into their family. Leita was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a talented seamstress and also loved to crochet, knit, and paint. She enjoyed traveling and had many opportunities to do so with Kent. Above all, she loved to spend time with her family. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various organizations throughout her life. She and Kent served a service mission in Temple Square and another mission in Everett, Washington. Many people were touched by her love and compassion throughout her life.

Leita is preceded in death by her father and mother, sister Dorothy, and great-grandson Shayden Edgerly. She will be greatly missed by her husband Kent, children: Jill (Clyde) Goodrich, Judy (Robert) Cash, Heidi Carter, KennaLee (Shawn) Radmall, John (Kris) Shepherd, and Hannah (Wes) Arnold, her 19 grandchildren and their spouses, and her 44 (and counting) great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Tuesday April 12, 2022 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Wing Mortuary, 118 E Main St, Lehi UT. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Wednesday April 13, 2022 at the 11th Ward Sego Lily building 880 N 700 E Lehi UT, with a viewing from 10:00am - 10:45am.
