Obituary

Leonard Wiliam Goss, 69, passed away March 9 2026.

He was born on February 19, 1957 in Brigham City, Utah, the son of William Jay Goss and Maurine Biddle Goss.  He graduated from Box Elder High school in 1975. In 1977 he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in New Zealand. Upon returning home from his mission he met Julianne Dastrup.  They were married on March 14, 1980 in the Logan Temple in Logan Utah. They were blessed with 7 wonderful children, Glen Goss, Jacob Goss, Tirsa (Matt) Sparr, Elizabeth (Tim) Scadden, Maxuel Goss, Lynessa (Clarence) Thompson, and Rhett Goss.

Leonard loved and served in the scouting program.  He also served as executive secretary for a time. He was a primary teacher and ward chorister and sang in the choir.

Leonard loved anything to do with bicycling, riding, fixing and selling.  He also loved aquariums.  At one point in his life he had 11 aquariums set up in his home.  He loved to tinker and fix things.  He also enjoyed camping, spending time with friends and gardening.  He was always listening to oldies music.

Leonard had several jobs that built his character.  He started out in the orchards of Brigham City picking fruit.  In high school he became a car detailer at Hansen Chevrolet. He loved having a clean car.  He worked in the coal mines in Carbon County and as a flagger after the mines caught on fire.  They moved to Lehi in 1984 where he got a job at Ireko making explosives.  He spent most of his career as a journeyman electrician.  He retired from that after 25 years.  His last job was as a parts driver for O'Riley's auto parts.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an older brother.  He is survived by his wife, his 7 children and 7 grandchildren. Also survived by his siblings, Ken, Susan, Norman, Roger and Doug.
