Leonard L. Jensen was born May 2, 1944 to Joseph Jensen and Glenna Hunt Jensen. He passed away Dec. 6 th , 2022 at home in American Fork, Utah where he resided for many years.
He was the first of 7 children. He loved his siblings and shared a close bond with his sister Glenna who he spoke with every Sunday.
Leonard met Glenda Woffinden at Wattie's Cafe. He was working on a demolition crew that came to town to take down the old Lehi tabernacle. He was on the demo crew working with his cousin and uncle.
Leonard and Glenda were married on June 4, 1965, in Lehi. They began their married life in San Diego, CA, where he was assigned in the US NAVY. After military service they moved back to Lehi, where they started their family. Even though they divorced later in life, they always remained friends.
Leonard was a welder for most of his years working several years for the Tooele Army Depot but also worked in the coal mines in Emery County.
Leonard really loved the outdoors. He loved gardening, camping, hunting, and fishing. He taught his children from a very young age to love the outdoors as well. There were many family camping trips at Scofield reservoir with the Jensen/Chubbuck family. Dad was blessed with three girls first (He really wanted a boy) so we all became his Tom Boys! Buying us fishing poles and tackles boxes for our birthdays, taking us out "West" to target shoot. A few years later, he got his boy Martin.
Later in life, Leonard developed COPD and other related health conditions. For the past several years he was confined mainly to home. While sitting at home he would spend a lot of time watching WWF, Hunting and outdoor programs, old western classics, playing games, and talking on the on the phone to family and friends.
He is survived by his children Marcy Lawrence (Kurt), Kim Ashurst (Brian), Teresa Herrera (Daniel), Martin Jensen, 8 Grandchildren, and 6 Great Grandchildren. Siblings; Glenna (Raymond) Hanson, Willis Jensen, Dwayne Jensen, Georgia (Ken) Pilling, Clifford Chubbuck, 8 Grandchildren, and 6 Great Grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews, and many lifetime friends.
Leonard was proceeded in death by his parents; Joseph Jensen, Glenna and George Chubbuck. Mother of his children; Glenda Jensen, Siblings; Norma, Georgie, and Ethel. Brother and Sister in Laws, Niece and Nephew; Peggy and Tyrel. Grandson; Jared, and Great Grandson; Graycen.
Funeral services will be held at Mitchell Funeral Home 233 East Main Price, Utah on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are welcome one hour prior to services.
Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Leonard online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
Interment will be held at the Lehi Cemetery, at 3:00 p.m. 1525 North 600 East Lehi, Utah
