Our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Leora Roberts Hampton passed away peacefully on May 19, 2024, with her family by her side.

Leora was born September 19, 1932, in Cedarview, Utah to her loving parents, Bryan Delance Roberts and Laura Ethlyn Taylor Roberts. She grew up on a farm in the Uintah Basin, where she milked cows, tended to chickens and helped to take care of a large garden.

When she was around 17 years old, her family moved from the Uintah Basin to Pleasant Grove. It was there that she met and married the love of her life, Monte Ray Hampton on November 30, 1957. They were later sealed as a family in the Salt Lake Temple.

Monte and Leora moved to Lehi in 1960, which is where they raised their family. Monte worked for the government, so they lived in Dugway for a while, and rented their house in Lehi.  After a few years, they moved back to their Lehi home and that is where she continued to live until her passing.

Leora was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several callings. She completed a service mission for the church from October 2005 to October 2006 and loved every day that she served the Lord. During the last years of her life, it became too hard for her to attend church, but she never missed watching Music and the Spoken Word every Sunday morning. She loved to listen to the beautiful music from the Tabernacle Choir.

Leora was preceded in death by her husband Monte, her parents, seven of her siblings and their spouses.  She was also preceded in death by her sweet baby daughter, Judy Ann, and her grandchildren, Matthew Humes, Shay Sawls, Christena Humes, Kirsten Anderson and Sarah Humes.

She is survived by her sister Jane (Dick) Fillmore, brothers-in-law Michael (Carolyn) Hampton and Ron (Diane) Hampton, her five children: Tom (Jaynann) Hampton, Lloyd (Lydia) Hampton, Verlinda (Steve) Roberts, Michelle (James Ross) Humes, and Jennifer (Michael) Hogencamp. Her great legacy of 39 grandchildren and 67 great grandchildren, as well as many other family members and lifelong friends.

The children of Leora would like to thank all of those who helped to take care of their sweet mother over the last few years. Especially, her granddaughter Angie Peterson, who lived with her and took care of her daily needs for the last seven years. The love they had for each other was unbreakable.

We would also like to thank Sharon Ambrose for her love and kindness in taking care of our mom while she was in her home. Our thanks go to the staff of Welcome Home Assisted Living, Harmony Home Health and Cascade Springs Hospice.  We would especially like to thank the staff at Covington Senior Living, as well as Lex and Karly from Renew Hospice. The last 6 weeks were so wonderful for our mom, and our family is so grateful for the kindness and love that everyone showed to her.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the Lehi Second Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building, located at 300 North 465 East, Lehi, Utah.  Family and friends are also invited to attend a viewing earlier that morning from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church.  Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
