Lorraine Otteson Peck passed away peacefully September 29, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was the first of 7 children born to Hans LeRoy and Carol LaRaine Phipps Otteson.
She was born in Spanish Fork, Utah and lived there with her Grandpa and Grandma Phipps and mother while her father was serving in the Korean War. When she was 3 she moved to Orem, Utah. She went to Windsor Elementary, Orem Jr. High and graduated from Orem High School.
She always had a great love for music. She started playing the clarinet the summer after 6th grade and played in the Orem Jr. High and High School Bands. She enjoyed singing in the choirs at school especially the Acapella and Girl's Choir in high school. After she got married she sang for years in the ward and stake choirs and in community singing groups, her favorite being the Chauntenettes.
She met her husband Doug Peck in June of 1970 and they were married April 1st, 1971 in The Salt Lake Temple. They were able to spend 51 happy years together.
She was always valiant in her testimony of the Savior and of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed serving in the church and always magnified her callings.
She was blessed with 9 children: Wendy Laurent (Patrice), Keri Strand (Jeff), Chris, TJ, (Marissa), Shawn, Bryan, Valerie (Cody), Alison, and David. The love of her life was her 24 grandchildren and one great – grandchild.
She will be missed by all those who knew her. She is proceeded in death by her parents, one sister – Denise, two brothers – Jon and Darren, and one grandson – Riley Peck. She is survived by her husband Doug, her children and their spouses, three brothers – Steven (Pam), Jim (Teresa), and Mike (Rea Dawn),one aunt – Mary Phipps and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Cedar Hollow Church located at 9645 North 6900 West, Highland, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:00-10:30 AM, prior to the funeral at the church. Interment, Highland City Cemetery. Online guest book at wing mortuary.com
