Loy Ray Clemons, a remarkable soul born on June 6, 1935, journeyed beyond this world on August 7, 2023, at 10:44 pm, leaving behind a legacy of profound intelligence, faith and devotion to His Savior, boundless love for life, and an adventurous spirit that inspired all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Loy's life was a canvas painted with vibrant experiences. He approached each day with an insatiable curiosity and a love for exploration. From the earliest days of his life in Oklahoma City, his thirst for knowledge and passion for living were evident. Even in his early years, Loy displayed an entrepreneurial spirit, beginning work at the tender age of 8 by polishing shoes, and caddying at Lincoln Park Golf Course at the age of 10. By 16, he was contributing to the world by nimbly parking cars at Richardson's garage—a testament to his dedication and work ethic.

As he grew, so did his appetite for learning and creativity. Loy's pursuit of knowledge led him to Houston University, where he earned his architectural and Interior Design degree  laying the foundation for a successful career that would span decades. A renaissance man at heart, Loy's diverse talents manifested in numerous fields. He was a gifted writer, an imaginative architect, an accomplished artist, and a captivating actor. His creativity knew no bounds, and he shared his passion for the arts with the world.

Loy's remarkable journey was highlighted by his appearance as a victorious contestant on the popular game show "Tic-Tac-Dough," showcasing his quick wit and knowledge. He had speaking parts in several movies as well as TV shows and wrote and published 13 books on Amazon. His love for movies and books mirrored his inquisitive nature, as he delved into countless stories and narratives, each contributing to his multifaceted perspective.

The theater was another stage where Loy shone brightly. He graced audiences with his performances in an astonishing 30 plays in a single year, leaving an indelible mark on the stage and in the hearts of those who watched him perform. His versatility knew no limits; he seamlessly transitioned between various roles, breathing life into characters with his magnetic presence.

In 1970, Loy found a kindred spirit in Vita, whom he married, embarking on an eternal journey of love and faith and companionship that lasts to this day. Their union brought forth two children, Peter (Michelle) and Petra (Greg), who now carry on his legacy. Loy was a life-long follower of Jesus Christ and led his young family to join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1976 where he served in many church callings throughout his life.

Loy's architectural prowess led to the establishment of a successful architectural firm in Scottsdale, Arizona, leaving an enduring impact on the landscape of the community.

A wanderer at heart, Loy's feet touched the soil of nearly every state in the nation, each adventure feeding his insatiable curiosity about the world around him. In 2007, he settled in Lehi, Utah, embracing a new chapter of life while continuing to inspire those around him.

Loy's life was enriched further with the arrival of his seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. His wisdom, love, faith, and zest for life became a cherished inheritance passed down through generations.

As we gather to bid farewell to Loy Ray Clemons, let us remember the joy he brought, the beauty he created, and the wisdom and faith he shared. In his passing, we celebrate a life lived fully, an inquisitive mind that never ceased exploring, and a heart that overflowed with love. May his memory forever remind us to embrace life's adventures, to nurture our passions, and to treasure the bonds of family and friendship.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Aug 19 at the LDS Church building, 3155 North Garden Dr., Lehi.  A friends & family greet will be 1 hour before at 11:00am.  Loy will be laid to rest at Lehi City Cemetery, 1100 North 400 East.
