LuAnn graduated from Provo High School in May 1951. In December 1951, LuAnn married her high school sweetheart, Arnold Pope, in the Manti Temple. Their first home was in Provo, UT, but they soon moved to Orem, UT, where they had four children: Sherri (Rick Duckworth), Robert (Jill Turner), David (Leanne Pope), and Karen (Gary Tsujimoto). LuAnn and Arnold lived in Provo, Orem, Salt Lake City, and Lehi, UT.
LuAnn worked for 32 years in a variety of office positions, retiring from Metal Letters, Inc, after working 13 years as office manager.
LuAnn and Arnold were called on three full-time missions together for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They served 18 months in Manila, Philippines. After a couple of years home they were then called for 18 months to serve in Nauvoo, Illinois. Their last full-time mission was for 1 year at the Family and Church History Library in Salt Lake City. LuAnn and Arnold also served a part-time mission as Assistants for the Special Needs Seminary.
On Jan. 14, 2023, at 12:38 a.m., LuAnn moved on to the other side of the veil. Her husband of 71 years was right by her side watching over her at the time. LuAnn was able to show herself as a loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
LuAnn is survived by her spouse, siblings, children and their spouses, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. LuAnn is preceded in death by her mother, father, and an infant grandson.
