Marsha Kay
Williams
Oct 27, 1945 — Sep 30, 2022
Marsha K. Williams was born October 27,1945, to Rosemary and Earl Williams and passed away September 30, 2022. She died surrounded by her loyal and conscientious caregivers at BellaView Assisted Living. She was also with her kind, loving, and doting private duty nurse, from Danville Support Services.
She grew up an only child but spent her childhood with cousins, growing up in the St. Mary's, Ohio area. Her cousin, Ann Mundhenk, has many fond memories of the two of them driving around town in Marsha's big Chevy. Ann also remembers Marsha teaching her how to make the most delicious cinnamon toast by putting gobs of brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon on top of the toast then broiling it till it was gooey and decadent.
Marsha graduated from high school in St. Mary's and then earned a bachelor's and master's degree from George Mason University in political studies. She went on to work for Senator Dodd as an assistant at the United States Senate. She was an avid reader and gifted at crocheting, making beautiful blankets for her loved ones.
Later in life, she met and married Matthew Kenneth Steen, Jr. They were married for 20 years last November 2021. Her husband passed away last December after years of being her caregiver, despite his own infirmities. Before his death, even in his deteriorating condition, he made arrangements with his children to care for Marsha for the remainder of her life.
She is survived by her stepchildren Mary Bodmann (Mark) of Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania, Jackie Proulx (Joshua) of Lehi, Utah, and Matthew Steen III (Robyn) in Meridian, Idaho. She is also survived by 11 step-grandchildren.
Marsha will be laid to rest October 8, 2022 in Paradise, Utah with her husband Matthew.
