Mary Jane Raney passed away on January 12, 2021 at 8:05 pm at 93 years old. She was born to parents, Hal H. Callaway and Madeline Boshard in Glendale, California, May 25, 1927. She grew up in the Hollywood area and attended Hollywood High School.

She married Charley A. Raney on August 1, 1947 in an elopement to Mexico.They bought their first home in Tarzana, California. There they had one son, Charles Hal Raney. They were sealed for eternity on July 19, 1986 in the Los Angeles Temple, and were active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints the remainder of their lives.

She loved the outdoors, especially the ocean, camping in the mountains and her beloved Morongo and Yucca Valleys in San Bernardino County. She was an animal lover and loved feeding the birds and bunnies in her dessert homes, as well as dogs and cats. She loved her friends, family and church. She was also an avid reader.

She leaves behind her son, Charles Raney(Patti) of Saratoga Springs and four grandsons, Douglas Raney(Katrina) Meridian, Idaho, , Patrick Raney (Kristen) Eagle, Idaho, Bradley Raney (Natalie), Green River, Wyoming and Scott Raney, Saratoga Springs, Utah. She leaves 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Also nephews Jay Callaway (Trish) and Joseph Callaway and niece, Karen Benson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Madeline Boshard Callaway and Hal H. Callaway. two brothers, Kenneth C. and Joseph B. Callaway and one sister Edna May Callaway.

Places she has lived include; Hollywood and the San Fernando Valley (Tarzana, Northridge, Granada Hills, Woodland Hills) in California , Olympia
Washington, Morongo and Yucca Valleys in California and for the last 2 1⁄2 years with her son in Saratoga Springs, Utah.

We wish to thank our many friends and family for the loving support we have felt. In addition we wish to thank the wonderful Hospice program and the amazing nurses that cared for her this past while. Also the kind and caring people at The Charleston at Cedar Hills (assisted living) for the last month and a half.

There will be a graveside service on February 5, 2021 at 2 pm at Camp WIlliams Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 17111 South Camp Williams Rd. Bluffdale, UT.(At section "B" of the niches) It will be outdoors so please dress very warm for the weather and bring a camp chair, (and maybe a blanket). We will be interning the cremains of both Mary Jane and her husband Charley A. Raney together. There will be a Military Honor for Charley A. Raney at this time, who was a WWII veteran. Please wear a mask and plan to social distance.
