Mary Colleen Varney Price Graduated from this earthly life 19 February 2024.

Mary Colleen Varney was born in American Fork, Utah on May 2, 1934, the oldest daughter of John Alma Varney and Alta May Penrod.  Mary had a happy childhood, living close to grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mary attended school in American Fork.  Mom had many school friends that she associated with throughout her life.  At American Fork High School she was a color guard in the marching band, Jr. Prom co-chair and seminary secretary.

Mary began taking violin lessons in the 4th grade, and loved to play the violin.  She used her talent to bless others throughout her life by playing for church services as well as the community and school plays.

Mary worked as a secretary for the FBI while attending BYU for a few quarters, then worked in the office of American Fork City.  About this time she went to a New Years dance and a few nights later received a phone call from Rex Price of Lehi.

Mary and Rex were married June 22, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple.  Nine children were born into this eternal union; 5 daughters; Jann, Collette, LeAnne, Andrea, Elizabeth, and 4 sons; Robert, Mark, Eric, and Nathan.

Mom was a great homemaker. When her children were little she sewed most of their clothes, cooked and cleaned and bottled fruits and Jams.  Mom loved being a mother and her children knew how much she loved them.

Mary had many church callings of service throughout her life.  She served as a Cub Scout Den mother for many years, ward relief society president, and many others...Mom was always busy with her family and ward.  She also served in the PTA for many years.  Education was important to Mom.  She attended BYU Education week for many years.

Rex and Mary served 3 missions together; Lehi West Stake Mission, Ohio Cleveland Church History Mission at the John Johnson Home-Newell K Whitney store, and Nauvoo Temple Mission.  They loved serving as temple workers in the Provo and Mount Timpanogos Temples.

Mary is survived by 8 children, 34 grandchildren, and 53 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Rex Thomas Price, parents, and a brother John Merrill Varney, a son Mark, and 4 grandchildren; Venecsa Cook Gasaway, Benjamin Price, Lance and Layne Lloyd.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 24th at the Lehi 12th Ward building, 1095 North 300 West, Lehi.  There will be a viewing Friday, February 23th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Lehi 12th Ward building and from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to the funeral.  Interment, Lehi City Cemetery.  Online guest book at wingmortuary.com.
