Maureen Leona Johnson Berry
Our beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend Maureen Leona Johnson Berry (81) returned to her Father in Heaven on April 17, 2024.

She was born January 29, 1943 in Maeser, Utah to her loving parents Marie McConkie and Verdin R. Johnson.  She was the youngest of 3 children.  Maureen grew up in Maeser and graduated from Uintah High School in 1960.  She married her high school sweetheart, Marc C. Bingham, and raised their 4 sons in several locations, moving often as her husband worked for the government.  They lived in Logan (UT),  Tucson (AZ), Burley (ID), then to Casper (WY), They built a home on a 40-acre farm in Lower Gordon Creek Road, Price (UT), moved to Grand Junction (CO) for a short time, then spent 8 years in Orem (UT) before moving to Mapleton (UT).

Maureen raised her children and grandchildren in the gospel which she held so dear to her heart.  She welcomed each of her daughters-in-law with love and spoiled them.  She looked for the best in people and treated them with kindness and respect.  Her positive outlook lifted all those around her.  She helped build Phone Directories Company Inc. and worked there for 2.5 decades in the finance and billing department.  She worked very hard and was a very giving person with a huge heart.  She helped many of her family members, employees, friends and strangers in many ways - usually anonymously.

Maureen and Marc later divorced and Maureen spent much of her time caring for her children and grandchildren.  After that chapter of her life came to a close, she met the love of her life, Glade W. Berry.  She was warmly welcomed and loved by the Berry family and was the only grandma that many of the grandchildren knew.  Maureen & Glade were sealed in the Timpanogos Temple in 1996 and they lived in Lehi (UT) for a few years before building her dream home in Cedar Fort (UT).  Maureen and Glade enjoyed spending time traveling together and tending to the cows. They enjoyed driving down to the valley together to make sure the cows had plenty of water to drink - which often turned into chasing cows that had gotten out.  She loved planning family reunions and taking the boys and their families on outings and trips.  Disneyland was one of the grandkids favorite vacations. Maureen loved spending time with her siblings.

Maureen was very devoted to her Savior, Jesus Christ, and served the Lord in many capacities over the years.  She especially loved serving the sisters in the Mapleton Relief Society. Maureen and Glade served a church service mission together in 2004-2005, which brought them much joy. Maureen was a stalwart example of service to her family throughout her entire life.
Maureen loved being with her Grandchildren and family. They were the light of her life!! She loved pictures and filled photo albums, and the walls in her home, with pictures of her loved ones. Many times she would zoom in and take just a partial face shot, which kept us laughing!!  She loved playing cards, traveling, sightseeing, camping, hunting, and fishing. She collected dolls… a lot of them!  Maureen loved the color blue and anything with bling.. jewelry, rhinestones etc.  She loved BYU and watched as many games as she could.  She loved the Christmas Season and had a special passion for decorating for the holidays.  Maureen loved singing and listening to music - especially hymns. However, her favorite music was anything Glade would play and sing to her. Glade brought his guitar and sang on a cruise ship shortly after they were married, and female guests started following him around.  Maureen was quick to let them know he was taken and would hold up her left hand and wave her ring at them!!  Sweet Grandma Maureen bought each grandchild a set of their favorite color of scriptures when they turned 8 and had their name embossed on them. She looked forward to letters from her missionaries and wrote to them and looked forward to hearing from them.  She was very proud of them for choosing to serve the Lord and had several grandkids out at the same time!

Maureen is preceded in death by her parents (Marie McConkie and Verdin R. Johnson), two older siblings (Vondalee Bingham and Larid D. Johnson), one Granddaughter (Misty Bingham), and four Grandsons (Justin Berry, Brandon Bingham, Bryon Bingham and Makay Bingham).

Maureen is survived by her husband, 4 sons, 7 step children & 52 Grandchildren & 63 great-grandchildren. Order of Maureen's children (4) followed by step-children (7): Michael Bingham of Fillmore, Utah; Monte Bingham (Pam) of Spanish Fork, Utah;  Marty Bingham (Michelle) of Sequim, Washington; Marion Bingham (Dami) of Lehi, Utah. Susan Dransfield (Mark) of St. George, Utah; Steve (Gina) Berry of Lindon, Utah; Annetta (Kevin) Gallagher of Florida; Bart Berry (Kelly) of Cedar Fort, Utah; Zane Berry (Ruth) of Pleasant Grove, Utah; Tawni Otero (Joe) of Pleasant Grove, Utah;  Mindy Young of Sandy, Utah.

The family would like to express our gratitude to Geisa Castro, who provided care and love to Maureen and Glade every day in their home, for the past 3 years.  Also, a special thanks to Maureen's sweet grandson, Marshall, who stayed with her around the clock during the past week of her life, tending to her every need.  We are so grateful for his love and devotion to her.  Also, we would like to give a special thank you to Symbii Hospice, especially Katie for the warmth, love, understanding, and compassion to Maureen and her family.

Funeral Services;  A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024 at the Cedar Valley Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ward building, located at 185 East Center Street, Cedar Valley, Utah.  Family and friends are also invited to attend a viewing earlier that morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment will follow in the Cedar Fort Cemetery.
