Obituary

Melba Colleen Hawkins passed away peacefully on September 15, 2022. Colleen was born on January 7, 1941 to Ned Christiansen & Melba Street.

Colleen was the second oldest of 5 kids - 2 sisters, 2 bothers. She was raised in Tooele, Ut where her dad worked at the Tooele army depot, later on they moved to Lehi, Utah. Colleen graduated from Lehi High School in 1959. Colleen met the first love of her life - Jack Berry in high school, and got married right after she graduated. Jack and Colleen separated years later. Colleen then met her second love of her life and married Douglas Hawkins in 1992 and they resided in Lehi.

Colleen worked at the Tooele Army Depot for about 5 years, then later became a bus driver for Alpine School District, and retired from that. Colleen loved to work, and be around kids, especially her grandkids. After she retired from bus driving, she wanted to be wherever her grandkids were - school, swimming lessons, and gymnastics practice.

Colleen spent her time working in her garden, doing housework, anything that involves cleaning. She loved a clean house! She also spent a lot of her time at the ranch in Ibapah.

Anyone who knew Colleen, loved her. She was such a special lady with the biggest heart, and cared for every single person.

Colleen is survived by her husband: Douglas Hawkins, children: Tori Berry, and Jed Berry, grandchildren: Brock (Whitney) Berry, Colton Berry, and Kylee Berry, great-grandchildren: Aspyn Berry, Lainee Berry, and Ridger Berry, her siblings: Gene (Robin) Christiansen, Jay (Joan) Christiansen, Jolene (Scott) Sherwood, and Shirley Gray.
Colleen is preceded in death by her parents: Ned and Melba Christiansen, daughter in law: Pam Berry, and brother-in-law: Alan Gray.
