Merrick Christian Wright

November 7, 2025 – August 13, 2026

Our sweet son, Merrick Christian Wright, was born on November 7, 2025. In the nine short months we were blessed to have him with us, he filled our home and our hearts with a love, joy, and light that everyone around him felt.

His first three months were difficult. He cried day and night unless he was being held, and often, he could only be soothed by his mom. It made keeping up with his three young siblings difficult. He was always in pain, yet all he needed for comfort was her arms around him. We were told he had colic and would eventually grow out of it, but that wasn’t good enough for us. After extensively searching for a solution to his pain, we took him to a pediatric chiropractor, and he finally found relief.

From that point on, Merrick became one of the happiest and most engaging little babies we could have ever imagined. His smile was incredible, and the instant he locked eyes with you, a beautiful, wide smile would light his whole face. He had a gift of making you feel seen and loved.

His siblings absolutely adored him. They were constantly kissing him, hugging him, carrying (and sometimes dragging) him around the house as they included him in everything they did. Merrick—Mer, Mer-Bear, and Mer-Mer, as each sibling lovingly called him—was such a good sport. He happily let himself be loved and included. But every now and then, he would let them know that he had simply had enough, which only added to his personality and charm.

Although Merrick’s time here with us was much shorter than we hoped, the love he gave us and the memories he created will stay with us forever. His nine months were filled with love, laughter, cuddles, smiles, and precious moments that we will treasure for the rest of our lives.

Merrick leaves behind his loving parents, Brandon and Savannah Wright; his adoring siblings, Olivia Kristina Wright (5), Ezra Brandon Wright (4), and Grayson Homer Wright (2); his devoted grandparents, Anna and Mark Stapley, Julie and the late Chris Wright and his sweet great-grandpa’s, Warren Magdiel Dansie and Roger Gibson Sears.

The outpouring of love and support we have felt since Merrick’s passing has been overwhelming. We cannot adequately express our gratitude to the countless family members, friends, and loved ones who have reached out, prayed, served, cried, and grieved with us. Every act of kindness, every prayer and every expression of love has been felt deeply and has impacted our family forever.

Above all, we are eternally grateful for our Savior, Jesus Christ, and for the knowledge that death is not the end. Our faith in Him and in God’s eternal plan gives us peace and hope in the midst of unimaginable sorrow. We know that because of Jesus Christ, we will see our perfect little Merrick again.

His life was brief, but his impact is eternal. He was deeply loved, he is deeply missed, and he will forever be our sweet Merrick.
