Obituary

Michael James Davis born on May 17, 1962 returned to Heaven on August 10th, 2021. He was born in Elkhart, Indiana to Robert Anderson and Vicki Davis Anderson. Later adopted by Carl Davis.

Michael met his sweetheart Shari Lynne Sims in February of 1993. It was an instant connection filled with laughter and love. They were married and sealed on May 15th, 1993 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They have been married for 28 years, with eternities to come. Michael and Shari welcomed their son Ryan into their family in 1995, and their daughter Rachael in 1997. He adored his children, and worked very hard to provide an amazing life for them.

Dad loved spending time with his family. We spent summer after summer up Timpanogos Mountain with dad doing what he loved; helping people and being in nature. Campsite #7 in Aspen Grove Campsite will hold a special place in our heart forever.

He has spent the last 4 years working alongside son Ryan driving an 18-wheeler all over the country. If you knew dad, you know how proud of his children he was. He was Ryan's biggest supporter, and absolutely loved being able to spend every day with him.

When his granddaughters were born, Michael had an immediate love for both of them. Brynlee is his "Little Monkey" and River is his "Shrimp Boat". Being a grandpa was one of the greatest joys in his life. They will miss their "Baba" very much.

He was a light in the darkness. He could turn any situation into a funny moment by cracking some joke, or spamming you with a wide range of random facts. His smile and laugh are things we will never forget.

Survived by his eternal love Shari Sims Davis. Children Ryan Davis, Rachael & Brayden Johnson. Granddaughters Brynlee & River Johnson. Father Robert Anderson. Mother-in-Law Carolyn Sims. Siblings Phillip Davis, David & Melanie Davis, Angie & Mike Cleveland, Deb Adams, Steve Foster, Theresa Foster, Kevin & Judy Sims Huggett, Louis & Denise Sims, Roger & Linda Sims, Kathryn Sims Cottle, Kevin Sims. And his many nieces and nephews.

{Preceded in death by Mother Vicki Davis. Adopted-Father Carl Davis. Step-Mother Nancy Anderson. Father-in-Law Rowell Sims. Twin-Brother Mitchell Davis. Step-Brother Scott Foster.}

Michael James Davis, you will be missed every minute of every day that we remain here on earth. Your kindness and generosity is something that will not be easily forgotten. Thank you for being a rock to all those who needed you, especially to Shari. We know you weren't perfect, (as no one is), but you tried so very hard to be the best man for her. And you succeeded.

Until we meet again.

Thank you all for your prayers and help in getting Ryan safely home to us. And thanks for all those who helped Michael & Ryan while they were on the road.

A special thanks to Trimac and Tracy Bird (Ryan's work mama) for their kindness and generosity that we have all received. They have cared for Michael and Ryan for the past 4 years with more love than we could have ever asked for.

A celebration of life will be held on September 25th, 2021 from 1pm-3pm at Inlet Park. (6800 North Saratoga Road, Saratoga Springs UT 84045). A luncheon for family will follow.

We will be holding a memorial in Indiana in the spring.
