Obituary

With humble acceptance of God's will, we announce the passing of Michael Neldon Duvall on January 9, 2024, at the age of 56. Mike was born in Salt Lake City on January 15, 1967, to Neldon and Shirley Chamberlain Duvall.

Mike was fortunate to enjoy many childhood adventures.  From a young age he fell in love with motorcycles and go-carts.  The kind heart that Mike possessed throughout his life first began as a child. He would oftentimes walk to 7-eleven and buy three hotdogs. He would eat one and give the others to his dog.  He loved 80's era of music, playing his guitar, and producing music for his band.

From the age of 19, Mike was an accomplished business owner, master craftsman, and creator. He labored all his life and produced many masterpieces. He held a wide variety of church positions, but his heart was overjoyed with his current calling as a Valiant 10 primary teacher with his wife.

Mike's greatest joy was being a father to his four boys.  As Mike recently expressed at his son's funeral, "We need to stop and recognize those special moments, whether it is a child, family member, or someone special to us. It's never too late, young, or old, to revel in the moment, recognize the unique gift, feel it's power of love and joy.  I have had those type of experiences with each one of my sons.  This is the love and joy that our Heavenly Father has for us individually.  I know our Savior loves us unconditionally.  I am grateful for my testimony and that it is deeply rooted and unshakable in the faith of our gospel."

Mike's favorite saying when leaving someone was, "Hey buddy, Thanks buddy, I love you buddy." We love you buddy. You will be missed.

Mike is survived by his love, and eternal companion, Caryl Ann Duvall, his three sons Joshua, Luke, and Christian Duvall, his sister Desiree Harris (Bill), and his loving mother Shirley Duvall.

With open arms, Mike was welcomed into Heaven by his loving father, Neldon Duvall, and his spirited son Jeremy John Duvall.
"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."  Henry David Thoreau
