On Thursday, January 13th, 2022, a beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend, Mike Curtis, returned home to his Father in Heaven.

Loren Michael Curtis was born May 4, 1950 to Veron Platt Curtis and Alene Livingston Curtis. The sixth of seven children, he knew the love and closeness of family from a young age. And his love of family was nearly matched by his love of cars - in Lehi,UT at the time the I-15 was under construction, you could usually find him exploring on the budding freeway. At the tender age of four, search parties for Mike often ended at the car, where he would be playing happily in the driver's seat. His passion for cars, particularly Mustangs, continued throughout his life.

To know Mike was to know his penchant for thrill and adventure. Mike attended Lehi High School, excelled in football, and graduated in 1968. He studied for one year at Weber State University, and then served with the Utah Army National Guard in the 117th Float Bridge Unit for six years, where he trained to become a Tool and Die Maker and a Machinist, which would become his chosen profession.

Mike loved God and his steady inner compass compelled him to follow Christ's teachings with integrity, love, and honor because he sincerely believed in and revered the Gospel. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Ohio, West Virginia Mission. After returning home from his mission, he married his longtime girlfriend, Sherrie Lynn Cook on December 31,1973. Together they had three children: Kent, Shar, and Misty. After 24 years of marriage, in June 1998, Mike lost his wife Sherrie. He would remarry in March of 1999, to Susan (Susie) Bogenrief Ball.

To the very last, Mike's personality mirrored his vibrant life. He was brilliant! His keen and analytical mind tirelessly pursued an understanding of the intricate and detailed workings of the world around him. His boundless curiosity made him an avid lifelong learner and YouTube aficionado. Most importantly, he was infinitely kind, caring, and extraordinarily patient. Mike was truly a man with "no guile."

He is survived by his wife Susan (Susie) Curtis and his three children, Kent Curtis (April Carlson), Shar Curtis (Traci Burton), and Misty Carter (Christopher Carter), as well as his sisters Verlene Moffitt (Bill Moffitt) and Donna Boren (Bob Boren). He left behind five grandchildren: Andrew Curtis, Aaron Curtis, Zoe Curtis and two newly-born twins Asher and Finley Carter. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Mahogany Manila Creek 4th Ward Chapel, 1320 West 3540 North, Pleasant Grove, Utah.  A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 AM prior to the service at the chapel.  Interment, American Fork City Cemetery.
