Myrna Rae
Yates Daly
Apr 6, 1935 — Nov 17, 2024
Myrna Rae Yates Daly (Myrn, Myrnie), proud mother to Darin John Daly and Angie Jane Daly, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her kids and brother by her side. Myrna was born on April 6, 1935 to Edward Geraldies Yates and Eva Jane Louder Yates, in Lehi, Utah. She never lived anywhere else and was a proud Lehi Pioneer.
She was the oldest of 3 kids and took care of her brother, Cecil, and sister Shirley, and dad, due to her mother's health issues. She worked at the old Lehi Hospital as a nurse and continued caring for others her whole life.
Myrna and John Reed Daly were married by Thomas S. Monson, on April 5, 1967, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with two children, to whom she dedicated her life. She became a single mom after the death of her husband in 1984. Her love for her kids and resilience kept her going.
Myrna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed being in the Relief Society Presidency in the Lehi 10th Ward. She loved the Savior and lived each day in His service.
She was a great piano player and enjoyed playing for Smart Start Preschool and Utah Regional Ballet. She loved to gamble, yell bingo, eat at the buffet and was always trying to hit the big one!
She hated to leave home but once out the door, she loved seeing new places. Some of her favorites were Hawaii, Nauvoo, Albuquerque Balloon Festival, San Diego beach hotel and especially Mesquite. She was an avid sports fan, cheering on Lehi High School, BYU, sometimes Utah and the Utah Jazz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and sister. She is survived by her two kids, Darin and Angie, her brother, Cecil, brother-in-law, Keith Burnham (Shirley) and many nieces and nephews.
We'd like to thank Utah Home Health and Hospice, especially Carrie, Brooke and Kristy, for the loving care they provided the last few months.
A viewing will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 9:30 a.m, followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m at the Sego Lily Chapel, 880 North 700 East, Lehi. Interment will follow in the Lehi City Cemetery. Online guest book at wingmortuary.com.
And according to Myrn , OJ didn't do it!
