Obituary

Nancy Kae Schiess Bonds passed away early in the morning April 21, 2022 after an enduring illness.

She was born August 25, 1937 in Provo, Utah to Daniel Alma Schiess and LaReta Alexander Schiess (Colldege). She attended Karl G. Measer Elementary School and Farrer Junior High School in Provo and graduated from Lehi High School. She loved music and enjoyed being in school choirs and plays.

After high school, she moved to California where she became an accomplished archer and bowler. She moved back to Lehi where she raised her three sons, Micheal Lee (Mike) Bonds, and twins William Lloyd Bonds Jr. and Wesley Lynn Bonds.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she enjoyed serving in a variety of callings. She received her endowments January of 1984 in the Provo Temple.

She enjoyed BYU sports and JAZZ basketball. She mostly loved attending her son Mike's football games with longtime friend Joan Fjellstrom (deceased).

In 1984 she had open-heart surgery, replacing her mitral value and eventually a pace maker.

She retired from Utah State Motor Vehicles Division after 25+ years of service.

She is survived by her sons Michael Lee Bonds and Wesley Lynn Bonds; five grandchildren: Preston Lee (Alexa) Bonds, Karah Shea Bonds, Sydnee Miran Bonds, Jade (Cheris) Bonds, Brody Bonds; three great grandchildren: Adalynn Bonds, Paizlee Bonds, Kai Bonds and a great grandson to be born in September 2022; brother Dennis (Marilyn) Schiess, sister DeAnn Schiess (Arnie) Cardon and brother Gaylan Joe (Shawn) Colledge; step-brother LaDell Colledge; long time family friend Jorge (Becky) Riveros and many nieces, nephews and friends who love her dearly.

Nancy was preceded in death by her son William Lloyd Bonds Jr. and granddaughter Mandee Ann Bonds.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 27th at Wing Mortuary with a private family service at 11:00 am followed by a graveside service at Lehi Cemetery at 12:30 pm, where all family and friends are welcome to attend. The family wishes to thank Encompass Hospice Health for their loving care and all the medical professionals who assisted in any way.
