Nathan Harold Sumsion passed away on October 15, 2026, at the age of 49. He was the third child of Kent and Esther (Hutchings) Sumsion. Nathan was born July 26, 1977, in Presque Isle, Maine. He graduated from Lehi High School in 1996. After graduating he served a mission in the Dominican Republic for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1999, he married his sweetheart and best friend Miriam Morillo in the Mount Timpanogos Temple, American Fork, Utah. He later received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
Nathan loved to talk and be around people. He was lovable, had a good sense of humor, fun loving, and a bit of a tease. He had a very loud infectious laugh recognized by everyone. Empathetic, very kind, and generous to a fault.
His sports passion was soccer. He played from U5 though high school varsity. He religiously watched his favorite team, Liverpool FC. He loved music, fishing and golf.
When Nathan wasn’t at work, he spent his time with his wife and three children. Together they enjoyed rifle and pistol shooting, mountain biking, and cooking. They fussed over a small garden and 4 clucking two-legged egg sources, but his favorite thing to do was take long quite walks with Miriam.
Nathan loved to work. He started when he was about 11 helping his brother fold and deliver newspapers, soon the paper route was all Nathan’s. He started in construction when he was 17, beginning at the bottom setting forms, tying rebar, and pouring concrete for residential foundations. His hard work over many years led him to be selected as a regional 1manager for Western Partitions Inc (WPI), a nationally recognized commercial construction company. As a result of his leadership and expertise he made the Seattle region highly successful.
Nathan has a testimony of Jesus Christ exemplified by his service in various church positions and his love for his family. His favorite calling was being a primary teacher in the nursery, for children under 3. He showed his Christ like love through his tender care of his wife, Miriam, during her recent battle with cancer, and his devoted care for his Children and extended family.
Upon his departing he was reunited with his grandparents Max and Betty Sumsion and Harold and Marie Hutchings as well as other recently departed close relatives.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Miriam and their three children Danielle, Jeremy, Ian, his parents Kent and Esther, his brother Morgan and three sisters Traci (David) Rich, Anne (Todd) Rees, and Katrina (Matt) Dorton. As well as 4 loving nieces and 8 nephews and many aunts and uncles.
Funeral services were held October 24, in Puyallup, Washington where he and his family have lived for the past 13 years. A viewing will be held for family and friends in the South Bench Chapel at 150 East 1500 North, Lehi, Utah, October 31st, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Following the viewing there will be a brief graveside service and interment in the Lehi City Cemetery.
