Born December 31, 1915 to James Heber Comer and Frances Jane Jones Comer. As she grew up she held church callings in all the organizations except Mutual. Her 1st calling was for the "Religion Class" as pianist. She continued playing for the Primary & Seminary. She played in Lehi, UT. Richmond, CA. La Mesa, CA. & Bellevue, WA. She played the organ in the following temples: Bellevue, WA. Ogden UT. & Bountiful, UT. She learned to play from her beloved Aunt Grace. Attended grade school In Lehi , skipping the 6th grade. She graduated from Lehi High School and from Seminary. She loved being on the typing and debate teams in high school. She won a medal at the yearly BYU Commercial Contest for typing speed.


She loved animals from a very early age; dressing the kittens in her doll clothes and taking them for rides in the doll buggy, unfortunately when tired of this they would jump out and sometimes land in the ditch and drown, & then be buried in the animal cemetery. Towser was a circus dog who knew many tricks. Many dogs followed such as "Ring,"& "Fluff." Then came a pony named "Felix." That was her pony on the condition she would take good care of her, always feeding and watering her. She became careless in the winter snow & cold. She was broken hearted when her father sold Felix. A hard lesson learned. She never complained about this to her father, taking the responsibility herself.


She wanted to earn money and worked in the hay season riding the skip where the hay was placed, on her Uncle George's farm. She also got to ride his old horse Dixie. She picked berries after begging her parents. She was paid in overripe berries.


She paid a $15 fee registering in college at BYU. She worked for President Harris as secretary for 4 years. She finished all her courses a semester early and went to Ogden working for the Forest Service. She returned for graduation exercises and 2 weeks later married her high school and college sweetheart, Mark Barratt Chadwick in the Salt Lake Temple. They had 2 children, Nola Kay and Bruce Barratt. At age 28 she was widowed & was left with 2 children to raise during WW II.


Three years later she met and married Jack Lasson Williams. They then moved to CA. They had 2 sons; Jack Comer & Harold Jay. Later they moved to Bellevue, WA. After being gone from UT for 40 years she retired & they bought a house in Kaysville, UT. She was widowed a second time. She moved to a condo in Bountiful where she later passed away at the age of 100.


She was a very industrious and self- motivated employee anytime and anywhere she worked. Her work history is very impressive.

She is survived by her children: Nola Kay Chadwick Wagstaff (Frank), Bruce Barratt Chadwick (Betty), Jack Comer Williams, Harold Jay Williams (Tammie – deceased), and Peggy Ann Williams Springer (Dwain Sr.). Many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren.


Thank you to her granddaughter Nola Louise and her husband Casey Sterna for the marvelous, loving care rendered to Mother in her home the last few years of her life.

The family wants to thank two fine gentlemen; one her cousin Elden Shaw and the second Bob Roberts. They filled a void her children could not fill. We also want to thank Hospice for the tender and loving care they gave Mother in her home and Wing Mortuary for their services.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 12:00 PM in the LDS Church located at 1476 North 300 West, Bountiful, Utah. Family and friends may call Friday evening at the church from 6-7:30 p.m. and from 11:00-11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery.
