Raymond Eugene Robinson, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 71 in his home in Lehi, Utah Wednesday, August 14, 2024.  Ray was born January 25, 1953 in Culver City, CA to Howard Suddeth and Bevery James Suddeth, but the marriage was short-lived. Beverly remarried and Thomas Glen Robinson became the only dad that Ray ever knew.

Ray grew up surrounded by family; siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents that gathered often teaching him, by example, how precious a family is. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,  Ray went to church on Sundays, Primary and Mutual during the week, and honored his Priesthood responsibilities with cheerful service.

He was always friendly and loving and had a happy childhood in Thousand Oaks, CA.  He had a paper route as a young boy in a very hilly neighborhood with a couple of vicious dogs, riding a bike.  His dad armed him with a squirt gun full of ammonia and off he went.  This taught him the value of diligence and hard work.  He continued to have a strong work ethic for the rest of his life.

Ray met his wife to be in Thousand Oaks, Anne-Kathrine Irene Sjoberg and married in the Los Angeles Temple on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1976.  They stayed in the Thousand Oaks area (first Moorpark, then back to Thousand Oaks) and raised their family there while Ray followed in his dad's footsteps and worked on motion pictures and later, television, in mechanical special effects as a member of IATSE-Local 44 for over 30 years.  His work took him away from home for the most part and several times out of the country on long locations, leaving Anne to care for the family at home. The reunion with his family, each time he had been away many months, was always so joyful and sweet. Two sons and one daughter joined the family.

When Ray was home, he was right back into church service.  He loved serving in The Boy Scouts of America (both sons are Eagle Scouts), Stake Missionary, Elders' Quorum, High Priest Group, Young Men, Emergency Preparedness, and Primary. He always had fun stories about experiences in his Hollywood work to tell and he always honored his Priesthood covenants even while he was away from home.

After missions and weddings, the children were off on their own and it was obvious there would be no retiring in California, so Ray and Anne sold their home of 22 years and moved to the house they found in Lehi, UT in July of 2005.  He worked on many projects for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints/ Motion Picture Studio over the years and met so many good friends and co-workers in Special Effects and the construction department as purchaser.  He loved saying that he purchased every material that went into the "New" Jerusalem set in Goshen. He worked on Old Testament, New Testament, and the Book of Mormon projects, along with various commercials, BYU,  and Studio C projects.

Over the last 23 years, eight natural and 2 bonus grandchildren came into Ray and Anne's life expanding the love of his family even more.  Despite health challenges, Sunday Family Dinner has been going strong for many years with Ray looking forward to gathering his family weekly. His family is grateful for the time they had with him in mortality and look forward to the grand reunion in the next life.

Ray is survived by his wife, Anne; children; Corey Joel Robinson (Jennifer), and Kami Linn Robinson Pollock (Jared); brother, Glen Terry Robinson; sisters, Ginny Kay McCluskey Koford, and Shari Robinson Berry (Randy).

Ray's Grandchildren: Lena Emily Robinson Robertson (Seth), Nathan Scott Robinson, Joshua Berg Robinson, Ian Jared Pollock, Quintin James Pollock, Alice Kathrine Pollock, Violet Emily Pollock, Ashton Flynn Pollock.

Bonus Family:  Michael and Jennifer Gwillian, Sadie Gwilliam, Savanah Gwilliam.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Glen and Beverly Robinson, his sisters, Beverly Ann McCluskey Hansen and Deon (husband), Catherine Rosalie McCluskey Robinson (Glen Terry Robinson), brother in law, Walter Koford, and son, Alex Jay Robinson.
