Reo DeLoy Chatwin Sr., 67, of Eagle Mountain—beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather—was reunited with the love of his life on September 21, 2021. He passed away at Mountain Point Hospital in Lehi, Utah. It is our belief that he died of a broken heart after having suffered the loss of his true love just two and a half weeks prior, on September 3, 2021.

A viewing in his honor will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021, at Wing Mortuary in Lehi Utah. Funeral services will be held the following day, September 28, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 2977 E. Saddle Rock Rd. in Eagle Mountain, Utah. Burial will follow at Murray City Cemetery. Arrangements are provided by Wing Mortuary. If any would like a mask, they will be provided.

Reo was born in San Diego, California, to Patricia Jean Minardi (Chatwin) and Gilbert DeLoy Chatwin on January 22, 1954. He attended West High in Salt Lake City, Utah. He married his true love, Alta Irene Morris, on July 17, 1977, in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Mount Timpanogos LDS Temple on December 6, 1997. Reo graduated from West High in Salt Lake City, having joined the United States military just four months prior to graduation. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War and served on both the USS Kittyhawk and USS Midway aircraft carriers.

Dad loved to share stories of his time in the Navy. He had a deep love of aircraft, road trips, fishing, and camping, as well as science-fiction and western movies. He loved to laugh and had an infectious smile that always seemed to make everything okay no matter how troubled the times were.

He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than life itself. Never failing to put the welfare of his beloved wife and each of his loved ones before his own, Reo will always be the perfect example of everything a loving patriarch should be.

We will miss our father more deeply than words can express. Our gratitude for him and the endless and unconditional love he gave us will never fade, and through that love he will live on forever. We are comforted in knowing that he is where his heart wanted to be: back in the arms of his love, our dear mother, without whom he simply could not live.

Reo is preceded in death by Alta Irene Chatwin (wife), Patricia Jean Minardi (mother), John Frank Minardi (stepfather), Gilbert DeLoy Chatwin (father), and Rodney Dean Chatwin (brother).

Reo is survived by his seven children: Barbara Bruner (Mick), Brenda Spencer (Adam Johnson), Tammy Miner, Traci Hulet (Corry), MaLissa Pahl (Ryan), Patricia Chatwin, Reo DeLoy Chatwin Jr. (Melissa), twenty-six grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Ricky Chatwin, Randy Chatwin, Angie Howland.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Eagle Mountain LDS Chapel located at 2977 East Saddle Rock Road, Eagle Mountain, Utah.  A viewing will be held Monday, September 27, 2021 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm in the Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main, Lehi, Utah and one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
