Rex Leonard Lee

August 5, 1931 – January 17, 2021

Rex Leonard Lee, beloved son, husband, father, and grandfather passed away on January 17, 2021 in his home surrounded by his children. Rex was born on August 5, 1931 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Janet Peterson Lee and Thomas Wilson Lee. Rex was married and sealed to his sweetheart, Dorothy June Lee on September 11 ^th , 1953 in the Manti LDS Temple. Rex and Dorothy have four children who are cherished and the loves of their lives.

Rex grew up in Eureka, Utah where he and his twin brother Max kept the town on their toes. Rex graduated from Tintic High School, where he met his sweetheart. Rex was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in the West Central States Mission. Rex earned his bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University. Rex then went on to graduate from the AFROTC and received his commission, where he joined the United States Air Force as a Second Lieutenant. Rex completed his pilot training in Oklahoma, receiving his silver wings. Rex was stationed in Texas, Massachusetts, and Hill Air Force Base where he piloted several types of aircraft to include flying 'old shaky' in the Vietnamese War. Rex loved his country and served four years active duty and an additional nine years in the US Air Force Reserve. Rex then went on to work in the Consumer Health Care industry and retired from Pfizer in 1995. Rex and Dorothy were called to serve in the Florida Jacksonville LDS Mission; their original call was to serve in the mission office, however, after talking with the mission president and discovering their strength with people, they were placed in the mission field to proselyte. Rex and Dorothy then spent their golden years ensuring they had the sharpest yard in the neighborhood and taking their daily walks with the dog in the Lehi Cemetery, where the fantastic crew placed a bench for them to rest at the top of the hill, known as Rex and Dorothy's bench.

Rex is survived by his two sons, Rex Laine Lee (Karen), Derek Timm Lee (Linda), daughter Traci Dawn Lee, nine grandchildren, and his sister, Virginia Regis. Rex was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, his wife and sweetheart Dorothy, and his son Bruce Allen Lee, who all welcomed him home with open arms.

Rex's children would like to thank his wonderful neighbors and friends, as he would say, 'love ya'! We would also like to thank his medical providers for the wonderful care, especially Dr. 'Timo', who had a special place in his heart.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 23 at 11:00 am at 10962 North 6400 West, Highland, Utah; there will be a viewing prior to the service from 10:00 am – 10:45 am. The funeral will have limited in-person attendance, the service will be broadcast at http://mywebcast.churchofjesuschrist.org/highlandutahcentralstake . A viewing will also be held on Friday, January 22 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Wing Mortuary, 118 E. Main Street, Lehi, Utah. Burial will be at the Lehi City Cemetery.
