Richard (Ricky) Jacob Gay was born November 5, 1985 in Provo, Utah and died July 1, 2023 from a pulmonary embolism. He was 37 years old. He was a loving husband, parent, son and brother.

Ricky loved the sun, the water and the ocean. From an early age, he wanted to be a marine biologist or veterinarian and loved dolphins, whales and sea turtles. Since he never lived close to a beach, he loved going to the pool and water parks. A brother said, "If anyone should have been a merman it should have been Ricky. He loved being in the water and singing."

He was a happy child and loved animals, all animals. Ricky's sister said, "One of my earliest memories is his love of animals. I had all those glass animals I collected. Everyday he was in my room when I got home from school playing with all the little glass animals."

As an adult, Ricky continued to be happy and had many great experiences. His first date with Michael was October 20, 2003 and they have been together ever since. Ricky was a committed spouse and parent right up to the time he passed.

Whatever his vocation was at the time, he was a hard worker and was frequently recognized as an outstanding employee. At work as in life, he was a people person and could quickly build relationships with others.

Ricky was loved by many and claimed to be "the favorite" son, brother, uncle, …. He will be missed and always have a place in our hearts until we can be with him again.

He is survived by his husband, Michael; son Domonik; parents John and Suzy; siblings Pam (Jay), Jim (Cassie), David (Ashley), Aubrey (Kevin), Todd (Nicki), Steven (Erin), Matt (Millie); twelve nephews, four nieces (and two nieces on the way!), thirteen aunts and uncles; numerous cousins; and a grandmother Mildred.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, July 7, from 11:00-1:00 at 1650 N 200 W, Orem, Utah.
