Richard Spencer Washington, 43, residing in Pleasant Grove, Utah passed away unexpectedly on March 18, 2023.

Richard Spencer Washington was born on December 15, 1979 to Phyllis and James Washington. He grew up in Grand Island, Nebraska. He was a proud Patriot and was honored to serve our country in the United States Navy.

At the age of 29 Rick met his wife Malene, they were married 3 years later and had 3 beautiful children. Rick lived a life of serving others. He enjoyed helping other Veterans, was in the VFW and the Honor Guard. He was also a proud member of the Honorary Colonels in Pleasant Grove, Utah. His achievements are many. The love for his family, friends, community and country stood at the fore front of the man he was. If there was a need, he worked tirelessly until it was fulfilled.

He is survived by his wife Malene, and 3 wonderful children; Caitlin (Phillip), Audrey (Kaden) and Cameron. Also left to cherish his memory are his brothers; James (Kendra) Washington, Brandon Washington, Sam (Samantha) Washington, his sisters; Jessica (Randy) Edwards and Sara (John) Mottl, uncle Tony (Lorie) Washington, aunt Deb Washington, aunt Robin (Doug) Pollack, Brian (Lisa) Wilcox, stepmother Gerri Gates, step-grandmother Connie McCandless and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rick was loved by all of his family and was an inspiration to all. He is preceded in death by his father James Washington, grandparents Silvia and Richard Wilcox, aunt Angela Washington and cousin Bobby Washington.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 24th at 11:00 AM in the Utah Veterans Memorial Park Chapel, 17111 South Camp William's Road, Bluffdale, Utah. Interment will follow after the service with military honors. A viewing will be held for family and friends on Friday morning, March 24th from 8:00 to 9:00 AM at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main, Lehi, Utah.
