Robert Lewis Charlesworth
1936-2019

Our beloved Father, Grandfather, and Husband passed away quickly and peacefully, July 23, 2019, surrounded by the love and respect of his family. Bob was born in Sweets, Carbon County, Utah on October 12, 1936 (he also shared his birthday with his son, David).

Bob married his high school sweetheart, Peggy Lenore Cottrell on March 13, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they were the parent of one daughter (Vickie) and two sons (Alan and David). They were married for 47 years. Peggy passed away, November 21, 2004. In 2005 Bob was lucky enough to find and marry the second love of his life, Carol Charlesworth.

Bob was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many positions over the years, dedicating the last 23 years of his life as a patriarch. Bob loved his family first and foremost. A good golf game with his friends and wood working were his other passions.

Bob worked for the Department of Transportation (UDOT) for 35 years when he retired. Bob always took time out from whatever he was doing to listen to and counsel his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Lenore, and his son, Alan Robert (Saundra) Charlesworth, his parents Lewis Cecil Charlesworth and Edna Elsie McDonald and sister Myrna. He is survived by his wife Carol; his children; daughter Vickie (Jeff, deceased) Walker; son David (Lori); 10 grandchildren: Korrina, Jeremy, Cassi, Cara, Rob, Alex, Brittany, A.J., Mitchell, and Tanner. Bob is also survived by Carol and her sweet family, daughters; Erin, Dana and Allison, grandchildren; Rushelle (Adam), Steven, Miles, Cory, Luke and Hailey. Bob had many, many more grandchildren who brought him great joy. Bob is also survived by a brother Dennis and sister Lynn.

A viewing will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 9:30-11:00am at the LDS Chapel located at 587 South Saratoga Road, Saratoga Springs, Utah. The funeral service will start at 11:00am. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah 84120.
