Rodney Charles Carson, born on April 24, 1953, in American Fork, Utah, passed away on August 5, 2024. He was the beloved son of Lavern Boley Carson and John Charles Carson. Rodney leaves behind his wife, Robyn Carson, and his three sons, Randy, Ross, and Ryan. He was also a cherished grandfather to Jessica, Emily, Dallin, Jaxon, Ivy, Crew, and his soon-to-be granddaughter, Kira, as well as a great-grandfather to Henry. He is also survived by his loving sister Charlene, who has always been by his side through thick and thin.

Rodney spent his early years in Utah, where he graduated from Utah Tech as a Diesel Mechanic. His dedication and hard work at Geneva Steel allowed him to fulfill a dream of owning a black 1967 Corvette.

Diagnosed with diabetes at a very young age, Rodney never let it get him down or change the life he wanted to live. His resilience and positive outlook were a testament to his strength and determination.

In the next chapter of his life, Rodney moved to Moran, Wyoming, where he and his brother Bryan Carson founded Buffalo Valley Log Homes, later renamed Jackson Hole Log Homes. Together, they built notable projects such as Cowboy Village and Togwotee Mountain Lodge, which are well-known landmarks in Jackson Hole and Moran, WY.

Rodney was not only a skilled craftsman and dedicated worker but also an incredible grandfather who adored his grandchildren and great-grandson. He was known to be quite a character, often leaving those around him with a smile and a chuckle. His unique sayings, affectionately termed "Rodisms" by his family, brought joy and laughter. One family favorite was, "Is a 300-pound rabbit fat?" If it doesn't make sense when you first hear it, just let it sink in.

Rodney's legacy of love, hard work, and humor will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A graveside service will be held this Saturday, August 17th at 11:00 AM at American Fork Cemetery, located at 26 W 600 N St, American Fork, UT 84003.
