Roland Lynn Horrocks, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Lehi, Utah, on September 3, 2026, at the age of 88.

Lynn was born June 10, 1938, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Roland Arbor and Thelma Kilpack Horrocks. He was the oldest of three boys, growing up with his brothers, Leon (Betty) Horrocks and Larry (Debbie) Horrocks.

Lynn graduated from South High School and attended the University of Utah. He served in the Air National Guard and fulfilled a mission in the Central States. He later built a long and successful career in computers, beginning in a time when computers were enormous machines that could fill an entire room. Lynn was always curious and willing to learn, and he had a way of figuring things out that served him well throughout his life.

One of the best things Lynn ever figured out was how to meet his future wife. He met a girl who could dance- and, as the story goes, she happened to be his best friend's date. Somehow, Lynn managed to win her over. They were married on November 16, 1961, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. Together they shared nearly 65 years of marriage.

Lynn was the proud father of four children: Wendi (Matthew) Webster, Jill (Leonard) Cranford, Rob Horrocks, and Erin (Steven) Briones. He was also a proud grandfather to Spencer Webster, Abby (Tanner) Iverson, Kesley Larson, Trevor, Tanner and Tayla Briones, and Sam (Oli) Horrocks.

Lynn was a true outdoorsman. Bow hunting in the Book Cliffs, fishing in Utah and Alaska, and camping in a series of trusted tents and trailers were among his favorite activities. He found joy in doing those things with lifelong friends and family. He was a man of many talents and interests. He enjoyed woodcarving and fly tying, was a gifted artist, participated in Toastmasters, and had a knack for fixing broken things. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities throughout his life. He enjoyed serving in the Scouting program, sharing his love for the outdoors with many young men. He and Carolyn served two missions together. The first at the Employment Center in American Fork and his favorite at Heber Valley Camp.

Lynn was quiet and often seemed reserved, but those who knew him well knew to watch for his quick, dry wit. He didn't always have a lot to say, but when he did, it was worth listening to - and sometimes worth laughing about.

Lynn leaves behind a family who will miss his steady presence, his quiet humor, his talented hands, and the lessons he taught by the way he lived. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Viewing will be Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 6-8pm and Wednesday 10-10:45am with funeral following at 11:00am. All services held at the Lehi Meadow View Stake Center at 900 North 1200 East, Lehi, Utah. Interment will follow at the Lehi Cemetery.
