Obituary

Rosemary Jacobs Stevens Mendenhall-Child, our loving, giving and kind mother, passed away peacefully in her bed on October 14th at her care center in American Fork where she resided the last year and a half. She really loved the staff at Stonehenge and received wonderful care during her time there. We are happy to know she is finally free from her pain and failing health.

Rosemary was born to Helen and O'Dell Jacobs December 2, 1945 in Seattle Washington. She was the 5th of 8 siblings-Robert, Brent, Brian, Creig, Michael, Shawna (her only sister whom she loved dearly), and her baby brother, Kim. She is proceeded in death by her parents and brothers Robert and Brent. Although they grew up with humble means, she always talked about fond memories of her childhood and really loved her family.

Rosemary met our father, David Stevens, while attending beauty school in Fillmore in 1965 and they were married later that year on November 30th. They remained married for 18 years and raised 4 children, Angela (Donn Dee) Allen, Mindy (Darl) Brown, Hazen (Angie) Stevens, and Coleman Stevens. She was blessed with 13 grandkids and 10 great-grandkids whom she loved. They later divorced in 1983.

Rosemary met her next sweetheart, Paul Mendenhall, whom she married in 1986. Despite Paul's severe disability of being born with cerebral palsy, she loved him dearly and served him selflessly for 28 years providing complete care until his passing in 2013.

She then met and married, Allen Child, and they spent the next 15 years in Mt Pleasant, Utah until Allen's unexpected passing in 2021. She loved Allen dearly and looked very much forward to being with him and Paul again.

Rosemary was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved her Heavenly Father and church family very much. She made an impact on all those she met as she was always positive and kind to everyone. Her positive outlook, and beautiful smile will be greatly missed to all that knew her.
