Roxie Ann Madsen Biggs, 84, of Pleasant Grove, Utah, passed away on 9 January 2025, after a brief illness.

Roxie Ann was born on 13 June 1940, in Provo, Utah, the daughter of Alfred and Verda Carter Madsen. She was the fourth of five siblings: Preston, Mary, Pauline, and Kathy. She developed a work ethic early, helping harvest corn, hay, sugarbeets, and celery on her family's 400-acre farm in Lakeview. During time off, sheloved fishing and swimming with her younger sister Kathy in the nearby Provo River and Utah Lake. She also rode her horse, Dusty.

Roxie Ann graduated from Orem High School in 1958, where she was active in Tigerettes, A Cappella Choir, and the school newspaper, Tiger Talk. She was alsoon the honor roll. She attended BYU for one year on an academic scholarship.

Roxie Ann married her high school sweetheart Wilfred Niel Biggs on 3 July 1959, at the Lakeview Ward in Orem, Utah. On 29 April 1997 they were sealed to each other in the Mount Timpanogos Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in American Fork, Utah. Niel preceded Roxie in death on 16 January 2022.

They were the parents of five boys: Chris, Dan, Bryon, Leo, and David. They werethe grandparents of 26 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. They lived in Orem, Manila, Pleasant Grove, and Lehi, Utah. Roxie Ann's favorite time was spent with her family, hunting, fishing, and boating. She also loved "bummin'" with Niel. Roxie Ann and Niel spent their last 20 years together raising hay and horses in Alamo, Nevada, where Roxie Ann made their little ranch blossom with succulents, flowers, and Mexican bird of paradise bushes.

Roxie was a gifted and versatile seamstress. Throughout her life, she helped support her family by sewing upholstery for furniture and motor homes, boat covers, air seals, wedding and bridesmaid dresses, and perhaps her greatest pride, English riding uniforms. One of her uniforms was worn by the champion of the Canadian Grand Nationals.

Roxie was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving for 19 years as the Primary music leader, and later in Mutual (Young Women's) and Relief Society. She enjoyed working at the cannery. Her favorite calling was as Cub Scout den leader of the 8-year-old boys.

Roxie was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Verda Madsen; her siblings Preston, Mary, Pauline, and Kathy, and their spouses; her husband, Wilfred Niel Biggs, her eldest son Chris A Biggs (Laurel), her granddaughter Crystal Elaine Biggs (daughter of Chris and Laurel), and her daughter-in-law Cindy Larsen Biggs(Dan).

Remaining to honor her memory are her sons Dan Biggs (Robin), Bryon Biggs (Laura), Leo Biggs (Lila), and David Biggs; daughter-in-law Laurel Knighten Biggs (Chris); 26 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, 18 January 2025, at 11 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 408 W. 1300 N., Pleasant Grove, Utah, with Bishop Paul Radcliffe officiating. A viewing will be held before the service from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Following the service, Roxie Ann will be laid to rest next to her husband, son, and granddaughter in the Lehi Cemetery.
