Obituary

We are deeply saddened about the sudden passing of our son and brother Samuel Jack Simpson on August 27th, 2022 in his home in Mapleton, Utah. Sam died unexpectedly due to complications with an enlarged heart. He was born on June 10th, 2002 in Logan, Utah and lived in North Ogden, Utah through 3rd grade. Sam leaves behind his parents Kendall John Simpson and Erlynne Perry Simpson, an oldest sister Adelaide Anni Simpson and 4 younger siblings, Lars David Simpson, Jonathan Kendall Simpson, Gavin Perry Simpson and Miriam Fay Simpson.

Sam's paths were his own and beautifully intersected and joined with countless friends along his brief journey. His bright light could often be seen ahead, beside or behind as so many relied and counted on him. Sam never accepted boundaries or limits and some of his most endearing qualities were his creative teasing, fierce loyalty, dependability for his friends, and the relentless pursuit of the next thing. The pain of his sudden passing is more exquisite as Sam always found a way through whatever challenge he experienced. The finality of his passing feels unreal.

Sam loved cars, sneakers, clothing, bottles of cologne, jewelry, artwork and tattoos, fishing, the outdoors, lifting weights and vacationing in Moab, California and Hawaii. He expressed his love for his family and Rose-the-Dog true to his own form and style.

As we contemplate our paths ahead without him, we're inspired by the bright light of a Savior and our bright memories with Sam. We encourage all to be the friend to others as Sam was to each of us.

We will have multiple events to celebrate Sam's life and legacy.
